A draft, plain-language description of what data Today C-News does and does not handle, pending legal review.

Last updated 2026-10-05

This page is a draft pending legal review and may change before the site is finalised.

Summary

Today C-News is a static site. It has no accounts, login, comments or payments, and we do not run analytics or advertising trackers. We do not operate a server-side database of readers.

What stays in your browser

The site uses localStorage in your own browser for three things:

  • Saved articles you choose to keep
  • Your light or dark theme preference
  • A record that you expressed interest in the Morning Espresso newsletter

This information is not sent to us automatically. You can delete it through your browser settings. See Cookies & Local Storage for more.

Newsletter sign-up

The Morning Espresso newsletter is planned for 7:00 AM ET on weekdays and is not sending yet. Using the sign-up records your interest locally and opens a draft email to [email protected] in your email program. We receive your email address only if you send that message yourself. If you do, we will use it to respond and, when sending begins, may use it to add you to the list. Please tell us in the email if you would rather we did not.

Emails you send us

If you write to any of our addresses, we receive whatever you include, such as your email address and message. We use it to respond, to investigate tips and corrections, and to run the site. We do not sell it.

Third-party requests

When a page loads, your browser requests resources from other providers: Google Fonts for typefaces, the Tailwind CDN for styling, and googleusercontent.com for images. Those providers can see technical details such as your IP address and browser information, as with any web request. Their handling of that data is governed by their own policies. Today C-News does not control it.

What we do not do

  • We do not require you to register.
  • We do not use analytics or advertising trackers.
  • We do not display live market data fed by your activity.
  • We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your choices

You can clear stored data in your browser, block third-party requests with browser settings or extensions, and decline to send emails. You can also ask us what we hold about you by writing to [email protected].

Security

No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Ordinary email is not an encrypted channel, so please avoid sending sensitive personal information.

Changes

We may revise this policy, and the date at the top shows the latest update. Questions go to [email protected].
