Netflix released the fifth and final season on August 20, 2026, with all 10 episodes available to stream. The final season picks up after the devastating events of Season 4, when JJ was killed by his father, Chandler Groff, in Morocco. The loss changes everything for the remaining Pogues, who return to the Outer Banks without their closest friend and with their lives seemingly falling apart.
Instead of simply chasing another treasure, the final season gives the Pogues a deeply personal mission. John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope and Cleo are determined to confront Groff while also trying to reclaim the future they have been fighting for since the beginning. Even Rafe becomes part of their uneasy alliance, adding another unexpected layer to the final adventure.
The emotional weight of the final season is especially significant because the series has always been about the bond between its characters. Their friendship survived dangerous treasure hunts, betrayals, family conflicts, romantic complications and seemingly impossible odds.
