Netflix Reverses Course on Beauty in Black: Season 4 Officially Renewed After Season 3 Explodes With Shocking Betrayals and a Bloody Cliffhanger
Fans of Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black have every reason to celebrate: the Netflix drama is officially returning for Season 4. The renewal represents a surprising reversal after Season 3 had previously been positioned as the series’ final chapter. Netflix confirmed the fourth season in July 2026, before Season 3 even premiered.
The decision means the story of Kimmie, Mallory and the Bellarie family is far from finished. More importantly, Season 4 will arrive after Season 3 dramatically escalated the battle for control of the Bellarie empire.
Created by Tyler Perry, Beauty in Black follows Kimmie, an exotic dancer whose life becomes entangled with the wealthy and deeply dysfunctional Bellarie family. Over the course of the series, survival gradually turns into ambition as Kimmie becomes increasingly involved in the family’s business, secrets and internal power struggles.
Season 3 pushed that transformation even further. Kimmie finally secured a place at the Bellarie table, but gaining power proved much easier than keeping it. Netflix’s official storyline placed Kimmie and Mallory in an uneasy alliance while the family descended into blackmail, revenge and increasingly dangerous betrayals.
The season’s ending only made the future more unpredictable. The finale culminated in a violent confrontation at the Make It Rain strip club, leaving several major characters’ fates uncertain. Kimmie, Mallory and Rain were among those whose survival was left unresolved, while Horace and Norman were also left in critical circumstances.

Taylor Polidore Williams and Crystle Stewart remain central to the franchise as Kimmie and Mallory, and both characters have become crucial to the show’s evolving power structure. Their complicated alliance could become one of the defining elements of the next season.
The renewal also makes sense in light of the show’s international performance. According to Tyler Perry’s official website, Season 1 spent seven weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10 and reached No. 1 in 28 countries, while Season 2 spent six weeks in the Global Top 10 and reached No. 1 in 17 countries.
Now, Season 4 has the opportunity to capitalize on the momentum created by the third season’s explosive conclusion.
The biggest question is no longer whether Beauty in Black will continue. It is who will survive long enough to control the Bellarie empire.
