While promoting the upcoming documentary Cookie Queens, the Duchess of Sussex explained that Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, have not yet watched the completed film. However, they were more than happy to enjoy one memorable benefit of the production: sampling plenty of Girl Scout cookies throughout the filmmaking process. The playful confession delighted audiences, highlighting the family’s lighthearted moments behind the scenes.
Produced by Archewell Productions, the company founded by Meghan and Prince Harry, Cookie Queens follows four young Girl Scouts as they navigate the annual cookie-selling season. Rather than focusing solely on cookies, the documentary explores friendship, confidence, resilience, entrepreneurship, and the challenges young girls face while growing up in today’s world. The film premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival before securing a theatrical release scheduled for August 7.
Meghan’s connection to the project runs deeper than her role as executive producer. Having been a Girl Scout herself, she said the documentary brought back memories of childhood while also resonating with her experiences as a mother raising two young children. The themes of encouragement, determination, and supporting children as they develop their own identities made the project especially meaningful for her.
During a special screening in Los Angeles, Meghan praised director Alysa Nahmias and emphasized that the documentary goes far beyond a story about selling cookies.
