Ozzy Osbourne made a deeply emotional confession to fans during his final public performance earlier this month, just weeks before his death at the age of 76
Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne made a deeply emotional confession to fans during his SiriusXM show Ozzy’s Boneyard earlier this month, just weeks before his death at the age of 76. It came after he gave what was to be his final show in Birmingham at the beginning of July, which was a powerful and symbolic return to his hometown. Now, fans are realising just how poignant that moment truly was.
In what has turned out to be his final live address, Ozzy opened up about the physical and emotional toll of his declining health in recent years.
“I don’t know what to say, man. I’ve been laid up for like six years. You have no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Despite being largely immobile in his final years, the Prince of Darkness said he remained grateful, even if his life vastly differed from the high-octane chaos of his early years.
“I’ve made it to 2025,” he said, bluntly. “I can’t walk, but you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all my complaining, I’m still alive.”

He faced a cascade of medical challenges in recent years—ranging from spinal issues and a serious fall in 2019 to a Parkinson’s diagnosis and multiple surgeries.
I may be moaning that I can’t walk,” he continued, “but I look down the road and there’s people that didn’t do half as much as me and didn’t make it.”
Osbourne, reflected on his past with pride, not regret. When asked by wife Sharon Osbourne whether he would do anything differently, Ozzy gave a characteristically unfiltered response.
“Sharon said to me recently, ‘If you had to do it over again, would you change anything?’ I answered, ‘No, I had a f—— great time.’”
Throughout the toughest moments, the singer credited his family, particularly Sharon and their children for helping him stay grounded.

In a statement his family shared: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy. “
His daughter Kelly got engaged to her boyfriend Sid Wilson at the veteran rocker’s final concert earlier this month as his celebrity pals took to social media and shared their respects.
David Coverdale, founder and lead singer of Rock band Whitesnake and rumoured to once have been considered for the role of Black Sabbath frontman shared a message on X.
“My Sincere Condolences To Sharon, The Family, Friends & Fans,” he wrote.
Actor Jason Momoa also shared a snap taken with Ozzy and Sharon.
