Fresh off a surprise duet with country star Kane Brown, Taylor Swift ended up in a viral snapshot with her boyfriend Travis Kelce, and two very familiar faces: former NFL linemen Taylor Lewan and Will Compton.

The image, captioned “Confirmed: Taylor Swift is FOR THE BOYS,” lit up the internet, not in a good way. Some fans lost their minds.

Swift, who famously endorsed Kamala Harris in the last election, had just been seen posing with two guys who supported Donald Trump. The backlash was swift, pun intended.

But hold on. Will Compton says there’s more to the story, and it’s not what the internet thought. During a recent Bussin’ With The Boys podcast episode, Compton shared how the photo came to be.

“When I went up to Trav and we got the flex photo, [Taylor] came off stage from ‘Shake It Off’ and was giving the boys some love,” Compton said. “She was like, ‘I had so much fun out there,’ and I’m like, ‘You crushed it.’”

Then came the ask. “I leaned over to Trav and was like, ‘Hey buddy, you know I’m not leaving this place without a pose with you and your girl.’ He was like, ‘I got you,’” Compton explained.

Apparently, the entire pose, including the much-debated flex, was all on the guys. Swift even joked afterward that she had “more muscles than us.”

The drama? Completely unnecessary, say Swifties. As Compton’s comments made their way to social media, fans quickly jumped in to defend her.

“So it is an established fact that they requested that specific pose, when the internet was trying to convince us she did it because she saw Trump doing it,” one fan posted on X.

Another chimed in, “Oh so you mean THEY had to go through Trav to get a pic with her at the end of the night?! But I thought y’all said these were her MAGA besties?!”
So yeah, the flex wasn’t political. It was just a bunch of football dudes being football dudes. Swift just happened to be cool enough to roll with it.
