Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returned to England to apologize to King Charles

First Annual Royal Foundation Forum

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be moving back to the UK, according to a royal expert.

Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive Show, Royal Correspondent at news.com.au Bronte Coy said she believes Prince Harry might be drawn back to Britain.

“A lot of things have changed in the past five years and it’s entirely possible that, with some reflection, there’s a big part of him wondering if there’s a way to bring the UK back into his life,” the journalist said.

Ms Coy was reacting to a comment quoted from a friend of the prince that read: “The goal for Prince Harry is simple.

“He wants to ensure the safety of himself and his family while in the UK so his children can know his home country and so he can help his patronages and their important work.”

It has led many to question whether the Sussexes’ decision to abandon the UK five years ago could finally be reversed.

“When they left, they left in such a passionate blaze of glory – they were so disheartened and bruised by the situation they’d had back here,” Ms Coy said.

“With all these things, once the dust settles and the emotion gets taken out of it a bit, the reality is he loves his home country – he talked about it in his memoir.

“After a few years, he probably just very much misses it.”

Another reason behind the couple’s potential move could be Harry’s immigration status.

Last year, conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation sued the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to get the Duke of Sussex’s visa application made public.

In September, a judge ruled that the Prince’s US visa would stay private despite his admission that he took drugs.

In his bombshell memoir, “Spare”, Harry confessed he experimented with cocaine, marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms.

The Duke’s admission prompted The Heritage Foundation to question why he was allowed into the US in 2020.

Under American law, visa applicants must disclose whether they have taken drugs in the past — and a failure to do so can result in deportation.

Back in February, President Donald Trump threatened to throw the exiled royal out of the US while speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland.

“The big change since that case was terminated in September is the new US President who has made no secret of his position on it,” Ms Coy said.

“It’s probably not something that’s going to go away given its attention.”

The royal expert felt that these circumstances could be pushing the couple to consider a return to the UK.

During an appearance at the DealBook Summit, Harry insisted that he and Meghan love their life in the US, saying: “I very much enjoy living here and bringing up my kids here.”

The Sussexes moved to a $14.65 million ($A20.9 million) mansion in the same neighbourhood as A-listers like Katy Perry, Ellen DeGeneres, and Oprah back in 2020 when they stepped down from their roles as senior working royals.

According to Realtor, the sprawling property boasts nine bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, a pool, and a tennis court.

It’s been rumoured that Harry misses living in the UK, but he has said that he still thinks it is too dangerous for Meghan and their children, Prince Archie, five, and three-year-old Princess Lilibet, to reside there given the lack of police security.

The “Spare” author said he believes his late mum, Princess Diana, would have wanted him to raise his kids in the US “to be able to do the things” he “undoubtedly wouldn’t be able to do in the UK.”
