When Hulk Hogan passed away last week at 71, fans around the world mourned the wrestling icon. But behind all this, a family rift left his daughter, Brooke Hogan, completely cut out of his will, by her own choice.
Yes, this is true. Brooke, didn’t just drift away from her father in the final stretch of his life, she removed herself from his estate altogether. And not out of spite. According to TMZ, she made the decision in 2023 to avoid being pulled into what she feared would become a messy financial issue.

Actually Brooke didn’t trust the people around her father. She believed they were taking advantage of his fame and wealth. So, she stepped away. She didn’t want the money. She didn’t want the drama. What she did want was peace.
“I had to step away to protect my heart,” Brooke said in an emotional Instagram statement Tuesday. She explained that her final conversation with Hogan took place nearly two years ago, in September 2023. She begged him to slow down, take care of himself, and enjoy life. But those pleas didn’t land. After that, they never spoke again.
Brooke recently became a mom to twins with her husband, former NHL player Steven Oleksy. After her father’s death, she worried that fighting over money would only make things worse for the family. So, to avoid any drama, she chose to step away from the will.
Her dad’s estate, worth about $25 million, is still being sorted out. It’s not clear who will get most of it, including his trademarks and other valuable rights. Brooke reportedly receives a small amount from a life insurance trust, which she plans to put aside for her kids’ college.
Despite her distance from Hogan in his final years, Brooke and Oleksy still honored him personally. Their baby daughter carries the middle name “Gene,” just like her grandfather. A quiet tribute.
“I know I did everything I could,” Brooke wrote. “He knew how hard and purely I loved him. I’m at peace knowing that.”
Steven Oleksy added his voice too, asking for privacy while mourning. “We’re grieving and processing privately,” he said. “Please don’t believe every video or headline out there. They don’t represent us.”
This wasn’t a fight over money. It was about heartbreak, trust, and a daughter who chose peace over inheritance.
