Ryan Reynolds Reacts To Deadpool & Wolverine Cameo He Didn’t Know Existed

Hugh Jackman As Wolverine In Full Yellow Costume Looking Sideways At Ryan Reynolds As Deadpool In Costume Without Face Mask In Deadpool and Wolverine

Ryan Reynolds didn’t know about a specific Marvel Cinematic Universe cameo that happened in Deadpool & Wolverine. 2024 is marking one of Marvel Studios’ best years, despite having only one MCU film on their slate for the year, as Deadpool & Wolverine is already a box-office success. Tapping into the multiverse concept allowed Deadpool & Wolverine to feature various Easter eggs and references to the larger Deadpool mythology, including several variants.

Following the news that Tom Holland’s brother, Harry Holland, was one of the Deadpool variants – dubbed Haroldpool in Deadpool & Wolverine – it turns out that Wade Wilson himself had no idea this cameo even happened. As Reynolds reshared the news through his Instagram stories, he gave the following reaction:

This is how I find out?!? You tell me?

Ryan Reynolds Reacts To Deadpool & Wolverine Cameo

This is not the first time the Spider-Man star’s brother has appeared in an MCU movie, as he also had a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home. While his cameo was cut from the theatrical iteration, Spider-Man: No Way Home -The More Fun Stuff Version restored his scene, showing Holland’s web-slinger chasing a thief who was played by his real-life brother.

How Deadpool’s Suit Made Hiding Several Deadpool & Wolverine Cameo Actors Way Easier

Deadpool’s costume covers up every part of him, which set up the Marvel cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine in a brilliant way. With the Deadpool suit covering up every aspect of anyone who is in the costume, it made it easier to hide the massive cameos.

While many of the Deadpool variants were voice cameos only, never unmasking any of them allowed the audience to play something of a guessing game until they saw the Deadpool & Wolverine credits. It will be interesting to see if they will feature any of the variants through Deadpool & Wolverine featurettes when the Blu-ray/DVD home media release is due, to see which actors were actually there on set and which of them were only lending their voices.

Time will tell if the MCU timeline ever revisits any of the Deadpool variants that popped up in Deadpool & Wolverine. As The Multiverse Saga gets closer to its end, it would be fun to see at least a handful of them one more time before Marvel Studios moves on to their next saga. But for now, the world can relive all of the variants in Deadpool & Wolverine by catching the film while it is playing in theaters.
