Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently released their latest Netflix project, a show about polo, but the series has not fared well when it comes to the reviews

Meghan Markle is hoping Prince Harry will “focus on other hobbies” after getting negative reviews for their latest Netflix series, according to a source.

The couple recently released their long-awaited documentary, Polo, which followed competitors in the US Open Polo Championship in Florida. The show has so far been criticized by viewers, with reviews slamming it as “boring” and “elitist.”

Now, a source has claimed the Duchess of Sussex is trying to pull her husband away from polo and convince him to try out new things. “Polo is Harry’s life, he put his heart and soul into this show and had huge hopes for it so the fact that it’s getting such terrible reviews has hit him very hard,” they explained.

The source continued, “Meghan is trying to be understanding but apparently, she’s somewhat relieved because she’s seeing this as an opportunity to convince Harry he should put more of his focus on other hobbies.”

The source suggested Meghan is hoping Harry will now spend his spare time surfing or hiking. Speaking to Closer Magazine, the source suggested while Meghan can’t stop Harry from playing polo, she would “rather it not be front and center in their lives.”

They added, “She’s not expecting him to totally move on from polo, but she’d like him to dial it back and put his attention on other things, and the harsh reality is that’s more likely now.”

The comments come after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were given a stern warning about their Netflix deal. The pair signed a whopping $100 million deal with the streaming giant after stepping down from the royal family.

Culture expert Nick Ede warned, “The new polo documentary hasn’t received good reviews, and this is another foray into producing from Meghan and Harry. All eyes will be on whether the show rates and makes the very important top ten.”

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he suggested the documentary has a chance of becoming popular but warned it’s “more than likely to fair badly when up against blockbusters like Black Dove and safe Lindsay Lohan Christmas films.” He added, “This could potentially be a nail in the coffin for their deal with the streaming giant who now use algorithms to make sure their programming is perfect for their subscribers.”

The new show, titled Polo, rarely features Harry and Meghan and instead focuses on players such as Adolfo and Poroto Cambiaso, Timmy Dutta, and Nacho Figueras. Ede commented, “With very little airtime, we don’t get to see the pair much and also hardly any PR around the series, this looks like it’s ‘Oh No!’ Rather than Polo.”
