Captain America: Brave New World: Anthony Mackie Will Have a Tough Time Beating Red Hulk if Marvel Has the Balls to Give Harrison Ford One Comic-Accurate Ability

Red Hulk’s greatest strength and weakness is his anger.

The trailer for Captain America: Brave New World has come with a lot of introductions and expectations. Not only does the film feature Harrison Ford in the role of Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, but it also makes him put on the skin of the Red Hulk. As if this wasn’t enough, the trailer poses some very interesting conflicts for Sam Wilson and his future as Captain America.

While the story is extremely intriguing, there is no denying that fans are hyper-fixated on the Hulk aspect of the trailer. The character has been highly anticipated for years, and seeing him finally make an appearance is significant, to say the least.

Being one of the most overpowered versions of the character, there is no denying that Anthony Mackie’s Captain America will have to work very hard to win against him. However, one specific ability may make it impossible for him to win.

Red Hulk’s Unique Ability

One part of the Hulk’s abilities is very clear-cut; when he gets angry, he turns into the Hulk. The angrier he gets, the stronger he becomes. This one part of his powers has made him one of the strongest characters in the MCU and nearly indestructible. The harder a villain tries to kill the Hulk, the angrier he gets, and the more likely they are to die a horrible death.

While this has stayed consistent through all of the character’s variants, things are a lot different when it comes to the Red Hulk. His powers cause him to have a completely different effect when he is angry. When something infuriates Thaddeus Ross, instead of getting stronger, he ends up radiating gamma radiation. This leads to him emitting a ridiculous amount of heat, which causes everything around him to also heat up.

During his first comic appearance, the character was going head-to-head against Bruce Banner’s Hulk, when he reached this stage of his anger. Since the pair were fighting in the middle of a desert, the sand around them was affected by the heat and radiation that he was putting out, causing a circle of glass to form around him.

It is safe to say that this is one of the main abilities that make him as overpowered as he is. However, it does come at a price.

A Weakness Sam Wilson Will Not Be Able to Abuse

In the comics, when Red Hulk is emitting such great levels of gamma radiation, is also when he is the most vulnerable. It was after he turned the sand into glass that the Hulk was able to take him down, and the same ability has been used against him on several occasions.

Since he is also releasing heat with the gamma radiation, he can also accidentally overheat himself in this state. While these are very helpful facts to know, they would not be of much use to Sam Wilson’s Captain America.

Anthony Mackie’s character has one major disadvantage compared to Steve Rogers; he does not have the Super Solider Serum in him. While the ability to fly often makes up for it in some ways, it will not be that big of an advantage against a variant of the Hulk. The character is known for holding his own against people who can fly, picking them out of thin air, and crushing them like insects.

While Thaddeus Ross’ weakness can easily be abused, it would also take Wilson a lot of effort, planning, and knowledge to be able to pull it off. The radiation emitted from Harrison Ford’s character could also prove fatal for Mackie’s character, considering that he is just a human who can fly. One can only imagine how difficult it will be for the new Captain America to beat the new Hulk.
