Woody Harrelson almost joined Mike White in Thailand for “The White Lotus” Season 3, but his own family vacation plans got in the way.

Harrelson, who was in the running to play either Walton Goggins’ Rick or Sam Rockwell’s Frank, was speculated to have turned down the roles because of producer David Bernad’s policy that all “White Lotus” cast members get paid the same. However, in a statement released to The Daily Beast, Harrelson revealed that he passed on “The White Lotus” because of his own family vacation.

“I was set to do ‘White Lotus’ and very excited. Unfortunately, their production schedule shifted, and conflicted with a pre-planned family vacation, forcing me to make an extremely hard decision,” he said. “Things must be meant to be though, because I couldn’t have done as fantastic a job as Sam, who is killing it.”

The third season of “The White Lotus” comes to a close Sunday with a 90-minute episode, the longest in series history. Season 3 cast members include Parker Posey, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Leslie Bibb, Natasha Rothwell, Dom Hetrakul, Tayme Thapthimthong, Christian Friedel, Julian Kostov, Morgana O’Reilly, Lek Patravadi, Shalini Peiris, Carrie Coon, Scott Glenn, Francesca Corney, Nicholas Duvernay, Arnas Fedaravičius, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood, Sarah Catherine Hook, Sam Nivola and Blackpink member Lisa.

The show won 15 Emmys for its first two seasons, securing an outstanding limited series win for Season 1. Series creator White also serves as writer, director and executive producer with Bernad and Mark Kamine.
