A famous scooper just made a bold remark on Kevin Feige after MCU Blade reboot lost its director.
Blade reboot has been a long-gestating project from Marvel Studios that seems to be taking way too long to proceed, and to make it worse, the latest filmmaker to take on the movie has made his exit. This is now the second time the movie has lost its director.
Mahershala Ali’s film is now in turmoil as it is currently slated for a November 2025 release. With the departure of Yann Demange, the schedule is expected to change as the delay in production persists.
Insider Claims Kevin Feige Doesn’t Care About MCU Blade Reboot As Movie Loses Another Director
Industry insider MyTimeToShineHello has made a striking comment on Mahershala Ali’s Blade not being an urgent project for Marvel Studios, hence the lack of updates and constant delay. The scooper also remarked that the MCU boss “doesn’t really care” about the project.
Ali has previously expressed via Entertainment Weekly his optimism about the reboot following its progress.
I’m sincerely encouraged in terms of where things are at and who’s on board and who’s leading the way as far as the writing of the script and the directing and all that.
French creative Yann Demange is the second director to leave the much-anticipated franchise after Bassam Tariq’s sudden departure in 2022. It has been reported that Demange left amicably while Tariq’s exit was caused by a scheduling conflict.
Insider Jeff Sneider previously said that there were issues about the script being “roughly 90 pages” long and had “two lackluster action sequences.” It is unverified if this was the reason why Tariq dropped from the project.
It seems like Ali’s highly anticipated reboot will take the backburner again as Kevin Feige and the team gears up for upcoming MCU movies such as The Fantastic Four, Captain America: Brave New World, and Avengers 5. There is also a lack of updates about the Blade reboot so it’s not gaining traction online.
Kevin Feige Was Approached By John Wick Director For Blade Reboot
MCU need not look any further as John Wick director Chad Stahelski volunteers himself to bring Blade to the big screen. The former stuntman revealed speaking with Kevin Feige suggesting he would like to take on the project (via ComicBook): I was like, ‘Look, I’m not going to lie to you. I don’t know if I fit that kind of studio mold, but Blade would be the one interesting thing I’d like to do.
He went on to praise the MCU boss for being an influential figure in his career. Stahelski also stated that he has no idea if he’s the best choice for the role, but if Disney wants to go for an “edgy, rated R version,” then he is the right guy for the job.
There is no reported replacement for Yann Demange at the moment.
