Veteran actor Giancarlo Esposito found worldwide fame when he portrayed the character of Gustavo Fring in the iconic AMC series Breaking Bad. Being the iconic baddie of the show, Gus Fring became a fan-favorite character for the people, and Esposito their favorite actor.
Following his breakthrough role, Esposito quickly became a part of Amazon Studios’ The Boys, Anton Castillo in Far Cry 6, and, Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian. Seemingly, the only place that Esposito hasn’t worked in is the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, some recent photos were released which indicated how Giancarlo Esposito would look in the upcoming MCU movie!
Giancarlo Esposito Would Look Great In Captain America: Brave New World!
The reason why we say “would” in the title is because a photo of what Giancarlo Esposito would look like in Captain America: Brave New World has been revealed. The photo is not of the actor himself but of his stunt-man.
So, it gives a pretty basic idea of how the Breaking Bad actor is going to look in the upcoming MCU film. Based on rumors and speculation, Esposito was allegedly set to portray the role of Lucas Cross, or the role of Sam Wilson’s dad Paul Wilson.
Well, photographer Atlanta Filming (who has an Instagram account) had plans of their own. Creating a drawing of Giancarlo Esposito, the fan revealed that this is what the actor was going to look like in Captain America: Brave New World.
Don’t worry this was just a joke. A real photo of Giancarlo Esposito’s stunt double was captured while they were filming a scene.
The caption does claim that the picture shows Esposito, but we are pretty sure that he is just a stunt double for the actor. Instead of the classic costumes of Paul Wilson or Lucas Cross, Esposito’s stunt double is wearing an athletic fit. This could signify that the actor is portraying an unknown character who is an assassin on the hunt for Sam Wilson!
Considering all the information that Esposito has revealed, it makes sense that his character would be an assassin. On the other hand, the theories of the actor being Paul Wilson or Lucas Cross also make sense, and we are here to clarify which is which.
Giancarlo Esposito Could Be Anyone He Wants To Be!
Whether he is in the MCU or not is a different question, but Giancarlo Esposito is having the time of his life by teasing people about his potential appearance. It was only three days ago that the actor gave another hint at his potential collaboration with Marvel Studios.
While at a public event, The Boys actor got up and reportedly told the world that the MCU had knocked on his door. He further continued that he was ready to answer (via X).
The MCU has knocked on my door and it’s a role you won’t predict. It will be teased and there will be a series afterwards.
So which character is he playing exactly? Well for starters, people thought that Esposito was slated to portray the character of Lucas Cross, the vampire who is father to Eric Brooks aka Blade in the Marvel Comics. Seeing that the Blade film is in the works, the character of Lucas Cross to appear made sense.
On the other hand, Giancarlo Esposito was also rumored to portray the character of Paul Wilson, the father of Sam Wilson. Despite passing away in the MCU, people thought that Esposito would return in flashback scenes, or somehow return to the mortal world once again.
However, seeing the photos of Esposito’s stunt double in an athletic fit has now put doubt in people’s minds. With the actor stating that there will be a series afterward, fans cannot wait for the release of Captain America: Brave New World.
Although there has been talk about these characters, nothing can be confirmed or denied about Giancarlo Esposito’s role in the MCU as of now.
