New cosplay for The Boys shows Queen Maeve returning to help Starlight take down Homelander. The Boys season 3 ending put Maeve in a perilous position, as she almost dies from falling out of an exploding building. Taking a step back from the Supes, Maeve did not appear in The Boys season 4 despite making it out alive after her battle with Soldier Boy. With The Boys season 5 confirmed to return Solider Boy, the return of other earlier characters like Maeve is still fully possible.

New cosplay from @claubailarinita shows Queen Maeve and Starlight taking down Homelander in The Boys.

The cosplayer revealed the art as a series of images, which showed a look at Maeve alongside Homelander and Starlight. In one photo, Starlight looks at Homelander with disgust as Maeve flips him off and Homelander flips both of them off. Another sees the two perturbed Supes get even angrier, pinning Homelander down. Homelander is on his knees with his hands pinned behind his back while Maeve and Starlight hold his neck and face.

There Are Intense Homelander Battles To Come In The Boys Season 5

Multiple Characters Want Homelander Defeated

This The Boys art is a fun extension of the idea of “girls get it done,” a refrain introduced in season 2. As of now, this particular Homelander takedown would be impossible in The Boys, as Maeve has not been reintroduced to the series in advance of season 5. Still, if the female Supes were to take down Homelander, it would be an enticing disruption to the otherwise male-dominated series. Given how much The Boys works with political themes, an ending like this could send social messages about the patriarchy.

As it stands, The Boys season 5 is heating up for the most intense Homelander season yet. Season 4 was already focused on Homelander, with a whole episode devoted to the character’s brutal past and the vengeful violence he enacts. By the end of The Boys season 4, Homelander has embedded himself within the U.S. government and even further established his dominance. As Homelander continues his reign and gains more prominence, the other characters will have to work even harder to overthrow him.

Even absent Maeve, there are already plenty of The Boys characters looking to take down Homelander. His main opposition includes lead characters like Starlight, M.M., and Hughie, but he is also likely to face down directly with Billy Butcher. Butcher has also been trying to coax Homelander’s son, Ryan, to his side, so season 5 could either see Ryan join forces with Homelander or work to oppose him. However these relationships work exactly out, The Boys season 5 is bound to be an action-packed fight against Homelander.
