Queen Elizabeth II was reportedly overheard describing Meghan Markle as “evil” at a Balmoral drinks reception just weeks before her death in February 2022, according to a sensational Royal claim.
In a bombshell claim, an insider linked to the Royal Family alleges Queen Elizabeth II labelled Meghan Markle as “evil” in the weeks leading up to her death.
It’s been alleged by someone close to the royals that the late sovereign “saw through” Meghan, who married into the family back in 2018. This alleged slip from the Queen came during heightened tensions between Harry’s wife Meghan and the Palace.
This revelation came after the Sussexes suggested they faced racism from within the firm, reports OK!. The Spectator was told by a mole that bystanders were gobsmacked when the Queen reportedly made the disparaging remark regarding Meghan.
According to the Express, the informant stated: “It was out of character for the Queen to use such a word as ‘evil’ to describe Meghan, but she saw straight through her. It was a startling sentence to hear from the most forgiving woman on earth.”
The source continued, detailing the event at Balmoral: “At the drinks before the dinner, a small group were talking to the monarch and she explained that Harry meeting Meghan had become a complete catastrophe and described her as ‘evil’. It was clear that the Queen’s health was failing and she didn’t have long left; she appeared to be filled with regret over how things had turned out.”
Harry and Meghan stepped away from their Royal roles and shifted to the US in 2020, embarking on numerous media and charity projects, a move now infamously known as Megxit. Harry’s bombshell memoir Spare also later opened up a rift within the family.
The late Queen Elizabeth II issued a heartfelt statement following the crucial Sandringham summit in 2020, which was held to determine the roles of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle within the Royal Family.
Despite their decision to step back from Royal duties, the Queen emphasised that they remained “valued members” of her personal family. She shared: “Today my family had very constructive discussions on the future of my grandson and his family. My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family.”
She continued: “Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family. Harry and Meghan have made clear that they do not want to be reliant on public funds in their new lives.”
Additionally, the Queen detailed the transitional phase for the Sussexes, saying: “It has therefore been agreed that there will be a period of transition in which the Sussexes will spend time in Canada and the UK. These are complex matters for my family to resolve, and there is some more work to be done, but I have asked for final decisions to be reached in the coming days.”
