Deadpool looking up in the trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine

Marvel Studios shares the final Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, confirming a massive Logan character coming back for the Marvel Cinematic Universe installment. The MCU timeline is about to release one of its most exciting Multiverse Saga installments, with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman leading the charge in Deadpool & Wolverine. While it will be the only MCU movie to release in 2024, Deadpool & Wolverine is said to be a game changer for the franchise going forward.

With Deadpool & Wolverine releasing next week, Marvel Studios put out one final trailer to give the MCU audience another taste of the upcoming Marvel movie. However, the big takeaway from the new footage is the confirmation that Dafne Keen is indeed returning as Laura, a.k.a. X-23, as part of the Deadpool & Wolverine cast. Check out the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer below:

The Deadpool & Wolverine trailer also gives a closer look at a returning X-Men villain, as Toad is seen in the footage too. Additionally, while already confirmed in a previous trailer, the newest Deadpool & Wolverine footage finally gives a full reveal of Marvel’s Lady Deadpool, as she is leading various Deadpool variants behind her.

As it was heavily rumored that X-23 would be in Deadpool & Wolverine, Keen was previously asked in multiple interviews and convention appearances whether she was reprising the role. In a recent interview, Keen stated that she wasn’t in Deadpool & Wolverine and was looking forward to seeing the movie as a fan. The actor said “I mean, I’m very excited to watch it. The trailer is incredible — we all agree that the trailer is incredible? I love Ryan Reynolds, I love Hugh Jackman, obviously, he is like my second father, like my fake dad.”

However, in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Logan star opened up about her return as the Marvel heroine. Keen stated, “I had a great time keeping it secret. I had to do a bunch of press for a job that I just finished,” while also referring to another Marvel star for inspiration. According to Keen, “All the inspo comes from Andrew Garfield. He is the master at this,” referring to the Spider-Man actor’s interviews prior to his return in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Time will tell which version of X-23 this ends up being, as it wouldn’t be shocking if Keen is playing one of Laura’s variants. However, it would definitely pull the emotional heartstrings if she got to portray the version that was featured in Logan. With only a week to go for Deadpool & Wolverine, the MCU audience will know soon enough which X-23 appears in the movie when the story unfolds on the big screen.
