Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding was a joyous occasion but it left the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall feeling “uncomfortable.”

The couple exchanged vows at St George’s Chapel in Windsor on May 19, 2018, in front of hundreds of family and friends, and beamed across the world to millions of people. The late Queen, and Prince Philip, then-Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, and Prince William and Princess Kate were all in attendance for the big day.

The Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall, alongside her husband Mike, her mum Princess Anne, and brother Peter Phillips were also guests. Following the wedding, heavily pregnant Zara, who was expecting her second child at the time, admitted she had a rather “uncomfortable” experience.

She told the Daily Telegraph her baby was giving her a rather awkward time during the ceremony and she confessed it showed on her face. Zara joked: “I was uncomfortable! My bum sort of slid over either side and Lena kicked the hell out of me for an hour.

It just wasn’t comfy at all and it probably showed on my face.” The mum later admitted Bishop Michael Curry’s infamous sermon, which was 13 minutes long, seemed to test the patience of the guests as it kept going on. She said: “It was just the general amount of time everything was taking.”

When Zara thought the Bishop was concluding, he started another anecdote, much to the horror of the guests, she admitted: “I think my face was probably caught the point when I thought ‘Right he’s going to finish now’ and then he went off on another little story and it was like, “Really?” Lena was born a month after the wedding, on 18 June. Zara and Mike later welcomed their third child, a son named Lucas, on 21 March 2021.
