Mr Beast, aka Jimmy Donaldson, has enjoyed a relatively untarnished rise to YouTube stardom and 309 million subscribers, but new allegations are putting him and his business empire under scrutiny. As new allegations surface daily, the Youtuber has turned his attention to quietly launching his Mr Beast Lab Toy Line.
Made in collaboration with Moose Toys, MrBeast Lab is a take on the “collect them all” style toys that were so popular in the late 90s and early 2000s. Fashioned after lab-grown monsters, on sale are the smaller test tubes, MrBeast Lab Swarms and the larger MrBeast Labs Mutators. Starting at $4.99, Swarms test tubes are small toys revealed by adding water and shaking; there are over 100 to collect and are available in a 2, 5 or 12 pack. The Mutator series is priced at $24.99, and after adding the included liquid and using a “fingerprint scanner”, it reveals a toy incarnation of MrBeast’s iconic panther logo.
Some collector panther figures that are bulkier than the Mutator series and a MrBeast Lab vinyl figure similar to a Funko Pop in its presentation are also on sale. Jimmy Donaldson has built a $700 Million empire that has expanded far beyond digital media to include his chocolate brand Feastables and MrBeast Burger. However, his debut toy line is not currently featured on his YouTube channel. Similarly, his Instagram account makes no mention of it, and neither does his X account. A recent post on X addressed the controversy surrounding former Mr Beast team member Ava Tyson.
Ava Tyson initially faced backlash from fans due to her transition from male to female. However, in July, she faced accusations of grooming and scrutiny over her association with hentai and lolicon artist Shadman. The alleged inappropriate messages were apparently sent through Discord. Both Tyson and the alleged victim have refuted any claims of wrongdoing on either part. In response, Donaldson stated on X, “Over the last few days, I’ve become aware of the serious allegations of Ava Tyson’s behavior online and I am disgusted and opposed to such unacceptable acts.” And, Tyson confirmed on X, that she will be stepping away from all things MrBeast.
Mr Beast’s Media Empire Falls Under Further Scrutiny
YouTuber DogPack404 released a bombshell video detailing how Donaldson would fake videos, mistreat employees and create a toxic work environment. The former MrBeast team member labeled the YouTuber as a “fraud” and “sociopath”, claims that were quickly denied by MrBeast’s current employees. The video also featured an ex-writer for the channel who experienced, as he put it, “war crime level torture” in the 100 Days of Solitary Confinement video. Other claims include the unfair dismissal of Jake and a fellow employee after complaining about mistreatment and the pressure to delete or minimize team members’ social media out of fear of them competing with MrBeast’s popularity.
It has also emerged that Donaldson may have knowingly hired a registered sex offender to work in an environment that often involves children. The alleged offender featured in MrBeast’s videos in 2018 and 2019 and went by Delaware. Documents provided show a man that was convicted of rape in the fourth degree for sexual intercourse with someone under the age of 18. Former team member Jake Franklin confirmed that Delaware is his brother-in-law and is a registered sex offender. In a post on X, he stated that Delaware was supposed to be a “behind-the-scenes” manager, and Donaldson was made aware of his prior conviction from the start.
Lastly, YouTuber Rosanna Pansino revealed that multiple participants in Donaldson’s upcoming Beast Games were hospitalized due to insufficient resources. The Amazon-backed series, which netted the content creator $100 million, is based in Las Vegas and set to continue filming soon. Over a dozen participants have come forward, alleging that they had not received adequate food or medical care and that many had suffered injuries from the challenges. In a reported leaked email to company employees, Donaldson pledged to review safety processes, hire a new chief human resources officer, provide sensitivity training and conduct an external review.
