Deadpool & Wolverine Secretly Introduced Deadpool’s Daughter & Created A Major Tie To Sony’s Spider-Man Multiverse

Deadpool & Wolverine may have introduced a character from one of Sony’s Spider-Verse universes in the MCU. Surprisingly, all universes remain intact by the time Deadpool & Wolverine‘s final scene concludes the titular heroes’ first MCU adventure. Earth-10005 survives Cassandra Nova’s attempt to destroy it with Paradox’s Time Ripper, and Earth-616 barely makes an appearance. Wolverine and X-23 now live together on Earth-10005 alongside Deadpool and his friends, but will likely be ready to join the fight if the Avengers need them on Earth-616.

Apart from multiversal characters such as Chris Evans’ Johnny Storm, Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, Wesley Snipes’ Blade, and Channing Tatum’s Gambit, an army of Deadpool variants also made an appearance. One of the Deadpool & Wolverine Deadpool variants looks remarkably similar to a somewhat obscure character from the comics — one who comes from the same universe as a major Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse antagonist. While this could just be one of Deadpool & Wolverine‘s many easter eggs, it could also be the first hint at a bigger Marvel multiverse.

Deadpool & Wolverine’s Deadpool Corps Introduces Marvel 2099’s Warda Wilson

Deadpool Corps Member Warda Wilson Comes From Earth-2099 (Or Earth-16356)

Many known and unknown Deadpool variants participate in Deadpool & Wolverine‘s Deadpool Corps fight sequence, serving as cannon fodder for Deadpool Prime and Wolverine. Apart from Matthew McConaughey’s Cowboypool, Nathan Fillion’s Headpool, and Blake Lively’s Lady Deadpool, the seemingly robotic, female Deadpool variant Warda Wilson can be spotted in the crowd, wearing a comic-accurate suit and mask, complete with glowing lines and goggles. In the comics, Warda Wilson comes from Earth-2099 — a universe populated by futuristic versions of all Marvel characters.

Earth-2099 is the streamlined fusion of multiple futuristic timelines set in or around the year 2099.

Warda Wilson is Wade Wilson’s daughter. On Earth-2099, an old and feeble Wade Wilson uses Pym Particles to shrink Warda’s mother, Shiklah, and store her inside his own heart while she remains permanently unconscious. In revenge, Warda imprisons Wade and takes up the Deadpool moniker. Warda releases a demonic monster, which eats the Iron Fist Danny Rand. However, Warda’s step-sister Ellie Preston arrives to stop Warda with her father’s help, but not before getting stabbed and burned by her sister. Deadpool & Wolverine‘s Warda Wilson may already have experienced these events in her timeline.

Spider-Man 2099 Was Introduced In Sony’s Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse

Marvel’s 2099 Universe Already Exists On The Big Screen

Warda Wilson isn’t the first character from Marvel’s Earth-2099 to appear in a theatrical Marvel movie. Miguel O’Hara a.k.a. Spider-Man 2099 made his debut in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse‘s post-credits scene and returned in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse as the sequel’s main antagonist. According to Miguel O’Hara in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, one version of Earth-2099 perished when he replaced its Spider-Man, which prevented a Canon Event from happening and doomed that universe to complete destruction.

Multiple versions of Marvel’s Earth-2099 universe may exist out there, similar to the source material. In the comics, Earth-2099 is composed of Earth-928 (the “prime” 2099 universe), Earth-2992, Earth-16356, Earth-96099, and Earth-23291. Likewise, the Spider-Society introduced in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse may already have identified several different futuristic timelines parallel to the one Miguel O’Hara accidentally destroyed, including one or more versions of Earth-2099 that are live-action.

Is Sony’s Spider-Verse Part Of The MCU’s Multiverse?

The MCU And Sony’s Spider-Verse Are Tangentially Interconnected

Many Spider-Man variants in the Spider Society in Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse

Sony’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse acknowledged the MCU with Miguel O’Hara’s nod to “Doctor Strange and that nerdy kid from Earth-199999″. The Spider-Society also keeps tabs on Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man universe and The Amazing Spider-Man universe, which in turn connects to the MCU’s main timeline through Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men, who met Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Meanwhile, the MCU hasn’t acknowledged Sony’s Spider-Verse in any way yet.

Warda Wilson’s brief appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine could be the MCU’s first direct connection to Sony’s Spider-Verse movies. However, Deadpool & Wolverine‘s Warda Wilson might come from a drastically different universe and only have a superficial resemblance to her comic book counterpart. Even if the MCU’s live-action Warda Wilson does come from a 2099-set universe, her universe could be exclusive to the MCU’s Sacred Timeline, which could be separate from the Spider-Society’s version of the multiverse. Until Marvel Studios officially confirms the MCU and Sony’s Spider-Verse coexist, these connections continue to be hypothetical.
