This Morning presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard were back on screens on Wednesday (February 26) but fans were less than impressed with the line-up
This Morning viewers were left feeling disappointed on Wednesday (February 26), with many considering changing the channel. The daytime TV programme faced criticism from its audience, with unhappy fans taking to social media to voice their plans to “boycott the show” after what they deemed another “boring” episode.
The show covered topics such as weight loss injections and included a jigsaw puzzle competition, which did not resonate well with viewers. The dissatisfaction online grew when two professional puzzlers appeared on screen, competing against time to finish a complex jigsaw puzzle, adding to the viewers’ annoyance.
Later in the show, a gadget expert demonstrated top cleaning products, and chef Donal Skehan prepared a straightforward six-ingredient banoffee pie. Despite the range of guests, some fans felt the producers “had run out of material,” with others threatening to “give up” on the show, currently presented by Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard.
On X – the platform formerly known as Twitter – the complaints continued to pile up. One viewer complained: “#thismorning Not sure who is in charge of putting out this daily drivel but, ARE YOU OK,” according to Wales Online.
Another remarked: “It’s no wonder people are switching off, and #thismorning are no longer winning awards.”, reports the Manchester Evening News.
A third frustrated fan posted: “#ThisMorning F****** jigsaws! They’ve run out of material, haven’t they.”
Meanwhile, one viewer voiced their irritation: “If they don’t stop banging on about them, weight loss jabs are going to make me give up #thismorning.”
Other remarks included criticism such as: “What a disaster of a segment. All those products flopped #thismorning,” and a sarcastic comment, “Tomorrow we’re getting in four people to watch paint dry #thismorning.”
Despite the critiques, not everyone was displeased with the show; some audience members were particularly pleased when Stephen McGann from Call The Midwife appeared alongside Ben and Cat. “Stephen McGann is looking very well. God Love him,” praised one fan, while another discovered something new: ” This morning, Oh, I learnt something new today; his wife writes it #callthemidwife.”
Many fans were taken aback to find out that Stephen’s spouse, Heidi Thomas, is the creator of Call The Midwife. During his visit to the morning programme, he revealed how his wife is often moved by the narratives she crafts for the show.
He shared with Cat and Ben that his wife would occasionally “be in tears” while writing certain scenes, noting, “She feels the show in her heart and soul.”
