Virgin River fans are still discussing the jaw-dropping conclusion to the Netflix drama’s sixth season, including one decision that left them scratching their heads.
In the latest installment of the beloved small-town romance, Mel Monroe (played by Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) finally said their I do’s at a beautiful ceremony, to which the entire town was invited.
However, their marital bliss didn’t last long as, after Jack realised his ex-FWB Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley) didn’t show up for the wedding.
He later checks in on her to discover her place ransacked and he’s left shocked by a discovery off-camera – what he saw will be revealed at the start of season seven.
While there were plenty of other reveals – including the continuing Brie (Zibby Allen) and Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth) saga – some viewers are still hung up on Jack’s ongoing drama with his former flame.

One irritated viewer recently took to Reddit to question why Jack would even want his ex at the wedding in the first place.
“Why is Charmaine even invited to the wedding?” they began their post.
“Sorry if this has already been posted but I cannot understand why she’s invited to their wedding after everything?!
“Haha like in what world would a bride invite her fiancés ex who just recently lied for 9 months about being pregnant with his twins?! Not to mention how nasty she was. Lol only in Virgin River.”
Although Jack and Charmaine have buried the hatchet enough to be polite with each other, they’re by no means going to be best friends after she tried to convince him he was the father of her twins.
“Let’s not forget, she asked Charmaine to do everyone’s hair. I guess attending the wedding was her bonus,” one user speculated.

To which another fan argued: “This was the dumbest thing ever! Like why would I want my fiancés ex girl be in my head doing my hair for my wedding day?
“The same woman that accused me of stealing Jack, the same woman who lied about having my man’s babies! Mel had plenty of money to hire someone for that.”
And another viewer agreed: “Charmaine spent every waking moment trying to torment Mel and make Jack feel guilty. Someone thought, ‘Let’s include Char in the wedding!’”
“Right after she lied to Jack and Mel and used Jack???? Why do they even talk to her?” another commenter fumed.
However, others have pointed out that literally everyone in town was invited to the wedding after mayor Hope McCrea (Annette O’Toole) insisted it was the biggest event of the season.
“I think it’s one of those situations where in small town/rural areas there may be people you don’t like, but you can’t avoid running into them, so you are polite,” someone else reasoned. “Inviting everyone else and not her would have been rude.”
Subscribers now have another lengthy wait to discover Charmaine’s fate at the start of Virgin River season seven. Will she and the twins be safe? Or has her story come to a grim conclusion?
