No Agatha All Along Season 2?! But Marvel Has BIG Plans for Agatha & Billy!

Even though chances of a follow-up season to Agatha All Along might have been squandered, Agatha Harkness and Billy Maximoff still have a clear future in the MCU, as they could easily return in Marvel’s upcoming Vision series. WandaVision’s Kathryn Hahn teamed up with MCU newcomer Joe Locke in Agatha All Along, with Agatha Harkness and “Teen” forming a coven to walk the infamous and fictitious Witches’ Road. “Teen” was soon revealed to be the reincarnated son of the Scarlet Witch and Vision, Billy Maximoff’s Wiccan, solidifying his future in the MCU.

Agatha All Along released over 2024’s Halloween period, and quickly became one of the MCU’s most successful and popular Disney+ installments. Agatha All Along’s incredible cast has since been speculated to be reuniting for a possible season 2, but recent comments have thrown Agatha Harkness and Billy Maximoff’s futures in the MCU into jeopardy. Given the pair’s connection to other, more-established characters in the MCU, however, there’s one clear place that could see them return, completing WandaVision’s trilogy perfectly.

While speaking to Andy Cohen on his Sirius XM podcast, Andy Cohen Live, on January 28, Patti LuPone dashed hopes that Marvel Studios would put Agatha All Along season 2 into development. LuPone appeared as the 450-year-old Sicilian witch, Lilia Calderu, in Agatha All Along, who sacrificed herself to save her new coven in episode 7, “Death’s Hand in Mine.” LuPone revealed she was shocked to hear that Calderu would die during the series, noting that she “wanted a second season,” to which series creator Jac Schaeffer noted that she “[doesn’t] do second seasons.”

Jac Schaeffer, the creator, came into my trailer and she said, ‘Patti, I’m just here to tell you that Lilia’s going to die,’ and I went, ‘But I wanted a second season…’ [Schaffer] said, ‘I don’t do second seasons.’ She said, ‘They wanted me to do a second season of WandaVision and I didn’t.’ She said, ‘There’s too much to write,’ so she does one-offs, and I’m really hoping and praying that someday I get to work with her again because she’s magic.

Patti LuPone’s comments imply that Agatha All Along season 2 is not on the cards for the MCU, no matter how much fans of the witchy series ask for it. This means audiences might not get a resolution to the series’ cliffhanger ending, which saw Agatha Harkness, now in her ghost form, leave Westview with Billy Maximoff to hunt for the latter’s recently-reincarnated brother, Tommy. While the pair’s future hasn’t yet been confirmed by Marvel Studios, is seems very likely that they’ll now make their next appearances in 2026’s Vision seriesWandaVision’s second spinoff.

After 12 Monkeys and Star Trek: Picard’s Terry Matalas was hired as showrunner in May 2024, excitement for the MCU’s Vision series grew. The series is expected to catch up with Paul Bettany’s White Vision, who hasn’t been seen in live-action since WandaVision’s finale, and will surely tie into the overarching narrative of WandaVision and Agatha All Along. Agatha Harkness and Billy Maximoff returning in the Vision series could see the latter reunite with his father, and perhaps his brother, too, possibly leading to Vision’s memories being restored and the next chapter of his MCU story being set up.
