Sweden‘s Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia have released a new photograph of their adorable daughter Princess Ines to mark her first birthday.
The sweet photo was shared on the royal couple’s official Instagram account on February 7, as they celebrated ‘our little ray of sunshine’ Ines.
The tot – who is eighth in line to the throne – was dressed in a pastel blue frock with white ruffles as she happily posed for the cameras.
The caption, translated from Swedish, read: ‘Today we celebrate our little ray of sunshine Ines, who turns one year old.’
Royal fans flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages as they wished baby Ines a happy birthday, with one person writing: ‘She’s so beautiful!
‘Happy birthday, little Princess! God bless your life.’
Another added: ‘Happy Birthday to the sweetest princess!!’
One person said she was beautiful ‘just like her mother’ Sofia, while another message read: ‘Such a little sweetie. Just as cute as the brothers.’
Baby Ines has four older brothers, Alexander, nine, Gabriel, seven, and Julian, four.
She was christened at Drottningholm Palace Chapel near Stockholm during a lavish ceremony attended by Carl Philip’s sisters, heir-to-the-throne Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Madeleine, last June.
The parents-of-four were also joined at the christening by their sons, who looked adorable in matching white shirts and cream blazers.
Among the glamorous guests were Carl Philip’s parents, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, as well as the newborn’s older cousins, including Crown Princess Victoria’s children, Princess Estelle, 13, and Prince Oscar, nine.
The Swedish Palace announced Princess Ines’ birth on February 7, 2025, with Princess Sofia and Prince Philip’s daughter eighth in line to the throne.
Days after the little one was born, Sofia and Carl Philip shared adorable photographs of their ‘perfect quartet’ on Instagram.
In the first snap, the three older brothers admired their sister, who was wrapped in a warm blanket.
The second image showed three-year-old Prince Julian sweetly pecking his younger sister on the forehead.
The Instagram caption read: ‘It turned out to be a perfect little quartet. Big and warm thanks for all the nice congratulations to our little Ines.’
Viewers flocked to the comment section to share their thoughts, including Princess Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who wrote: ‘Congratulations’.
In a statement announcing Ines’s birth last February, the Palace said Princess Sofia had welcomed a ‘healthy’ daughter, with her husband by her side.
While she is eighth in line to the throne, Sofia and Carl Philip’s child will not have an HRH style title because of a decision made by King Carl XVI Gustaf in 2019.
During his Christmas speech, he revealed that he was stripping his grandchildren of their titles so that it could help them ‘eventually carve out their own future’.
The monarch said at the time: ‘The decision was to make clear who within the royal family will act as official representatives of Sweden in the future. For me, this is a way of clarifying what expectations are.
‘It will hopefully be helpful when my grandchildren eventually carve out their own future. But, to that day, it is far away.’
