Shocking Confession from Meghan: Kids ‘Not How I Envisioned’ as She Admits Motherhood Feels Overwhelming Despite Help

MEGHAN Markle has revealed how having kids was “not how she envisioned” in her latest podcast episode.

The Duchess of Sussex spoke with Kitsch founder Cassandra Thurswell in episode seven of her eight-part series Confessions of a Female Founder.

The chat, which came out this morning, is part of the Lemonada Media podcast which has been releasing a new episode each Tuesday since April 8.

Meghan, 43, and Cassandra discussed motherhood together in the latest episode.

The Duchess of Sussex revealed that she had always had a “vision” of being a mum.

But the reality of pregnancy and motherhood was not exactly what she expected, Meghan claimed.

The Duchess said: “I will say, for myself – especially when they are baby babies and before I was mum, I’ve always wanted to be a mum.

“I was like, ‘Oh gosh I’m going to give a speech with a baby on my hip’ – I had a whole vision – you fast forward, granted I had a lot of external things happening by the time I had both pregnancies and both babies.

“But it was not the way I envisioned it.”

Meghan previously claimed how she has relied on a nanny for five years as motherhood was “overwhelming”.

She shared how she enlisted a helping hand to cope with Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, on her pals podcast, The Jamie Kern Lima Show in April.

Meghan’s admission today comes after she spoke about getting her “hands dirty” and admitted she doesn’t “have time to cook everyday” in the previous episode.

The Duchess of Sussex sat down with Heather Hasson, the founder of FIGS, in the last episode of her new podcast.

Meghan, 43, said: “It can get messy and the best founders are not afraid to get their hands dirty.

“And I don’t mean play dirty. I mean, when it’s ‘clean up on aisle five’ time, you are the first person there with a mop.”

Today’s episode saw the Duchess open up to Kitsch founder and CEO Cassandra Thurswell.

Thurswell founded the global beauty brand at just 25 years old in 2010.

In February it was reported that Kitsch was bringing in nearly $300 million in sales under CEO Cassandra.

Today the beauty industry mogul spoke to Meghan about motherhood with the Duchess admitting again that it was not how she “envisioned it”.

The podcast comes after the Duchess’s Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan was released in March and her new brand As Ever was launched last month.

Podcast host Meghan sells £11 jars of jam and £22 limited edition honey.

Shoppers can also sample her £9 teas, including lemon ginger, peppermint and hibiscus.

Confessions Of A Female Founder is Meghan’s second attempt at entering the podcast sphere after the failed launch of Archetypes.

The show was about female stereotypes and ran for just one series before getting the boot.

The Duchess of Sussex then signed a deal with Lemonada Media in February 2024 after her Spotify contract for Archetypes ended in 2023.
