Will ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ resolve cliffhanger ending?

ENTER-TV-QUESTIONS-MCT

I just finished watching the third season of “The Lincoln Lawyer,” with a cliffhanger. I am wondering if there will be a fourth season.

A: I have not seen an official confirmation, but it appears likely. The “What’s on Netflix” website pointed to the cliffhanger as well as “continued excellent viewership stats, in addition to multiple signals from the cast and crew that more is on the way.” As for when, it may not be soon, since there’s been about a year between the arrival of previous seasons.

Q: We enjoyed watching a series called “Almost Paradise” starring Christian Kane. Any chance it will be returning to TV?

A: Kane (“Leverage”) played a former DEA agent living on a small island in the Philippines in this crime drama, which traveled a rocky TV road. The first season premiered on the old WGN America in 2020. It did not have a second season until 2023, after streamer Freevee picked it up (and you can still find both seasons on Prime Video as Amazon phases out Freevee). There’s been no news about a third season since then. And Kane has been on other series, including “The Librarians: The Next Chapter,” coming to TNT in 2025.

Q: I really enjoyed Season 1 of “Poker Face” starring Natasha Lyonne. Why has Season 2 never become available? Was it due to the writers strike or contractual disputes with actors? I thought it was a very special show.

A: The mystery series was picked up for a second season on Peacock, but like many shows, it reportedly hit delays during the Hollywood strikes. It’s expected back sometime in 2025, and according to TV Line, the list of guest stars is impressive, including Katie Holmes, Margo Martindale, Cynthia Erivo, Giancarlo Esposito and John Mulaney.

Q: There was a show in the mid-1970s, I think, called “These United States” with Beau Bridges. I don’t think there were many episodes, but are they available anywhere?

A: Bridges and Helen Shaver starred in “United States” (no “These”), a comedy-drama about a modern marriage, which aired on NBC in 1980. With the legendary Larry Gelbart (“M.A.S.H.,” “Tootsie”) involved as a producer and writer, the show tried to break away from TV-comedy conventions, and I loved it at the time. But some critics did not — one book calls it “tedious, boring, and didactic” — and the audience was so small that it was canceled before all 13 episodes had aired. But, as much as you and I would like to see it again, I cannot find it.

Q: My husband and I just binged on six seasons of “The Resident” and thoroughly enjoyed it. There is supposed to be a seventh season (according to a Google search). Any idea if and when it will be released?

A: I’m not sure what you found on Google, but there is no seventh season of the medical drama starring Matt Czuchry. Its sixth-season finale in 2023 proved to be the last of the show. And the producers knew it might be, creating a season finale that wrapped up enough storylines to serve as a series-ender.
