WHEEL FANS SNAP – Ryan Seacrest’s ‘annoying’ habit and chill act under fire! 😤 What’s driving viewers nuts?

Wheel of Fortune guest looses $1m on game

Fans of Wheel of Fortune are once again slamming host Ryan Seacrest for having an “annoying” habit and seeming like he’s “trying too hard.”

Season 42 has already drawn criticism from viewers as they’ve called the new set design “over the top” and horrible for being too bright and “hurting” their eyes, distracting them from puzzles.

Others have taken aim at the show’s apparent “dizzing” jump cuts, but Seacrest’s hosting has drawn the most comments from viewers.

During Seacrest’s third episode, they noticed he has a distracting habit with his hands.

As he got to know players Jennifer, Samantha, and Jose, during the interview bit of the show, the American Idol host kept his hands in his suit pockets as he didn’t have an cue cards to hold.

Fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to calling out the habit, with some saying he was “trying too hard” to seem “relaxed.”

One person wrote: “Get your hands out of your pockets, Ryan” as another fumed: “The set sucks. And what’s this with his hands in his pockets???”

A third added: “I don’t like Seacrest yet…he’s annoying the s— outta me right now!”

A fourth vented: “I get this isn’t a newscast or something serious but I also didn’t like how relaxed Ryan was.

“It almost like he trying hard to come off as, ‘See? I’m not nervous.’ At the beginning of the round, Ryan had his hands in his pockets and was leaning against the ledge.

“The only time Pat had his hands in his pockets was during the credits and the only time Pat leaned against the ledge was for comedic effect.”

Besides Seacrest’s hosting style, fans have been complaining about the bright new set since the season premiere.

Some viewers then centered their attention of the show’s jump cuts, with several angry fans taking to Reddit to share their negative opinions.

At the top of the board, the poster wrote: “The Jump Cuts on the New Season are Dizzying.”

Underneath, they wrote: “I’ve noticed that they are speeding the show up significantly with rapid fire jump cuts and it’s honestly hard to watch. They do this on the new version of Password too.

“On Password they will NOT hold a shot for more than 3 seconds before cutting to something else. It’s hard to get used to and it’s almost making me anxious.”

In the comments section, one person agreed: “Absolutely. They also don’t show the puzzle long enough for me to play along at home.”

Another pointed out: “This is a symptom from internet video culture. It absolutely sucks. The jump cut was always meant to be a last resort, then was a stylistic choice… and then when youtube came along, young people didn’t know anything about editing and it just took over.”

They added: “I’ve seen it start bleeding into regular TV and I hope it stops. We need to keep bringing attention to it. Shots need to be held longer, and for god’s sake, stop editing out natural pauses as people speak!

“Sorry, you just hit on one of my pet peeves. It’s even in podcasts now, where they edit out EVERY PAUSE and think an audio of constant speech is okay. It’s baffling.”

A third added: “I’m not sure why they have made so many formatting changes. I don’t mind all of them, and I appreciate updating things every now and then, but maybe they should have gradually ushered in changes some time other than when they’re also introducing a new host.”
