The portrait of the man Meghan Markle had an affair with has been revealed. Previous statements from the Duchess of Sussex have revealed the existence of a new man, who is a fatal blow to Harry.

Ever since Meghan Markle made her return to Instagram after a years-long hiatus, fans have been wondering if Prince Harry’s wife will revive something else she gave up when married into the royal family and that is her blog The Tig.

When Meghan revealed in 2024 that she was launching a lifestyle brand product line, some thought that might be a sign that she was ready to relaunch her lifestyle blog as well. Because the Duchess of Sussex hasn’t announced any plans for that at the moment fans have been sifting through the archives of Meghan’s blog and looking at posts the Suits star created before she knew she was going to marry one of the most famous princes in the most famous royal family in the world.

One of Meghan’s entries people have been talking about recently is a post the duchess wrote about Rory Mcllroy in which she gushed over the professional golfer and how much he “enjoyed” dinner.

Romance rumors began when Meghan talked about Mcllroy’s ‘ethics’ and ‘enjoying’ dinner

Back in 2014, McIlroy nominated Meghan to do the Ice Bucket Challenge for the ALS Association, to raise awareness about the disease. According to The Mirror, she agreed to do it only if the athlete dumped the water on her himself. He did and many thought that was the start of a friendship between the two until Meghan’s blog entry in which she praised McIlroy and everything about him ignited rumors that they were romanticly involved.

She wrote: “Ah yes. Rory McIlroy. THE Rory McIlroy. Whispered (and shouted) to be the foremost golfer in the world, loved by Tiger, respected by Palmer, and dumper of frigid water onto my lone head for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. That Rory McIlroy.

“He is a force who has the propensity to actually work hard and play hard — relishing intense practices to substantiate his title, embracing nights of sipping Opus One (his bold and impressive choice of wine) and indulging in group dinners at Cipriani – for the balance, of course.”

She continued: “And yet, beyond his work/play ethic, the most endearing quality of this man is his character — as real and honest as they come, appreciating a simple smile, never shunning a fan photo, enjoying a plate of pasta with veal ragu, and expressing a love for his parents that is rarely seen in men his age. Or at any age, to be honest. He is not just the real deal … he is real. And perhaps that is what makes him even more cherished.”

Meghan and Mcllroy were spotted out together once more before they started seeing other people

Meghan and McIlroy’s rumored fling didn’t last long though as they were seen out together once more in October 2014 at the Fade Street Social restaurant in Dublin before they were linked to other people.

Meghan began dating celebrity chef Cory Vitiello for a while and later started seeing Prince Harry. She and the prince wed in 2018 and welcomed their son, Prince Archie, in 2019, and their daughter, Princess Lilibet, in 2021.

McIlroy meanwhile began a relationship with Erica Stoll. They said “I do” in 2017 and welcomed their daughter, Poppy, in 2020. On May 14, 2024, it was reported that McIlroy filed for divorce. However, a month later the two decided not to move forward with that.

The golfing pro said in a statement to the Guardian: “Erica and I have realized that our best future [is] as a family together.”
