At the time of her death, Princess Diana was dating film producer Dodi Fayed, who was the eldest son of Egyptian billionaire Mohamed Al Fayed. The former Harrods owner died on Aug. 30, 2023, almost 26 years to the day of the crash that killed Dodi and the princess.

Following Mohamed’s death, dozens of women have come forward accusing him of multiple sexual assaults. Many of the alleged victims are former Harrods staffers who said that he preyed on young women hired by the company and threatened them against speaking out about his behavior.

Now, someone who used to work for Princess Diana is claiming that his unacceptable and “creepy” behavior even extended to the royal.

One of the late royal’s former aides is claiming that Mohamed once made an indecent proposal to Princess Diana and his words left her “shaking.”

Paul Burrell began working for the royal family when he was 18 years old and served as Queen Elizabeth II‘s personal footman. In 1987, he was moved to the household of then-Prince Charles and Princess Diana. When they separated, Burrell served as Diana’s butler until her death. He spoke to The Sun about the very unpleasant encounter his former boss reportedly had with Dodi’s father.

According to Burrell, Diana left Mohamed’s office one day shaking because he told her: “I’m going to sleep with you.”

Burrell recalled that the princess was in shock before adding, “I was disgusted by his behavior. Diana was repulsed … he was setting the stage for that encounter and he was serious. He thought that was his right and that it would actually happen — that he would actually sleep with the Princess of Wales.”

Burrell added that Mohamed’s comments came before Diana started dating his son but “that was always in her mind all through her romance with Dodi.”

Mohamed tried to be handsy with Princess Diana but he knew he ‘couldn’t go too far’ with her

Burrell also claimed that he witnessed the ex-Harrods owner put his hands on Diana, but he knew he “couldn’t go too far” with her.

The former royal butler explained: “With Diana, he couldn’t go too far. She always had the upper hand because he could not afford to lose her … She would say how Fayed was always putting his hands on her. People don’t touch members of the royal family but I saw him stroke her arm and linger too long, kiss her hand almost like a pet, and put his arm around her waist.”

Burrell believes if the princess were still alive, she would not be “surprised by these allegations because she knew he was creepy towards women. If Princess Diana was here, she’d have stood with them, united, and said, ‘Well, it could have happened to me. It didn’t. Thank God. But I’ll be with you all the way.”‘
