So claims a royal insider in brand-new and very shocking comments to Fox News Digital, at least. On Thursday, that outlet quoted five (!) royal sources — all by name, no less — who spoke about Kate Middleton‘s alleged role in trying to bridge the gap between her husband Prince William and her brother-in-law Prince Harry amid their seemingly endless feud.

Of course, Kate just wrapped up her own very challenging series of events with a major chemotherapy battle following a cancer diagnosis early this year. But in past years, according to royal author Christopher Andersen, who penned The King, she had been very focused on “playing peacemaker” to work things out between Harry and William.

Not so anymore, Andersen says! Instead of doing back-and-forth duty to smooth things over between the brothers, Kate is now said to be fully focused on preserving the future of the monarchy alongside her husband William and her father-in-law King Charles III. Andersen explained to the outlet that Kate tried to keep Wills and Harry civil “over a period of years” before she finally “threw up her hands in disgust” and let it be:

“The idea that Kate somehow still has the time and energy to continue playing peacemaker is rubbish. She did try over a period of years and finally threw up her hands in disgust. She did her bit, but it wasn’t enough to build a bridge between William and Charles on the one side and Harry on the other.”

At this point, per second royal insider Richard Fitzwilliams, Kate is “totally at one” with her 42-year-old husband over how he is handling the rift. Fitzwilliams claimed Kate wasn’t too thrilled about how Harry portrayed her in his memoir Spare — specifically, how she was “cold” to his wife Meghan Markle. That second royal expert explained:

“Harry portrayed her as cold and unwelcoming to Meghan Markle in Spare, when he painted an extremely damaging picture of the royal family. The memoir is soon to be released in paperback and his allegations will surface again, though fortunately, he will not be adding to the volume or promoting it. He knows perfectly well how damaging it has been.”

So to Catherine, the time for peacemaking is over! She just isn’t going to worry about it anymore! Between prioritizing her health and her royal duties, Fitzwilliams says she’s got plenty more on her plate to worry about rather than dealing with Harry:

“We have recently seen encouraging signs of Catherine’s recovery. Her focus, as she has said, is being ‘cancer free.’ The Wales family has had a tremendously difficult year. She has finished her course of preventative chemotherapy. William, while carrying out some royal engagements, has been tremendously supportive… [But] Catherine will wish to avoid anything that promotes negative energy.”

And other royal sources are only adding even MORE fuel to this fire!!! British broadcaster and royal family biographer Helena Chard also weighed in for Fox News Digital this week. She commended Kate for having “a strong sense of negotiation,” which in this context means “not prioritizing reaching out to Prince Harry at this time.” Chard went on to note:

“Making sure her family is well and happy is her priority. She is also aware that she has to be kind to herself. Having completed her preventative chemotherapy treatment, she is relieved to be undertaking royal duties where possible but realizes that she is not totally out of the woods.”

Chard also asserted that sooner or later, Prince Harry is likely going to come crawling back to Princess Catherine and try to reopen the lines of communication:

“Prince Harry will want to contact Princess Catherine. Prince Harry will be bothered by the silent treatment — and the royal family is aware of this.”

Jeez…

Yet another royal expert — To Di For Daily podcast host Kinsey Schofield — had even more to say on that front, too. She explained that both Harry and Meghan are “not on” Catherine’s “radar” at this moment time:

“Catherine has pursued peace over the last year. [But] Harry and Meghan are not on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ radar right now. Catherine is focused on her health and family. Harry and Meghan’s relentless exploits are irrelevant to them at this point.”

Ouch!! As Schofield was quick to note, cancer — both for Kate and for King Charles — has been at the forefront of any concerns. Also, Kate’s kids are growing up, and she’s constantly considering the best course(s) of action for their futures:

“Even with Catherine currently in the clear, the reality is that cancer has taken a toll on King Charles. Prince William and Catherine will have to prepare for a complete shift from the privacy and intimacy of the life they’ve lived so far to William ascending to the throne. They are planning for things like how to navigate raising teenagers under that type of spotlight. How much access the world will have. How to protect their children.”

Ultimately, there is just too much going on to worry about little ol’ Harry who remains thousands of miles away in Montecito, California right now! The podcaster went on to assert:

“The bigger picture no longer includes Harry, and they are focused on keeping Catherine cancer-free, the future of their family, and the future of the crown. Harry likely misses Catherine because he is a perpetual victim, but you’ve made your bed, now lie in it. I hope the payday he received from Spare was worth losing a sister-in-law who loved him like her own little brother. Was complaining about Catherine’s lack of enthusiasm over sharing lip gloss with his stranger wife or publishing private text messages sent from a future queen worth his exile?”

And the podcast host finished her take with a damning final sentence:

“Harry has to accept the consequences of his actions.”

OOF!!!

However… that may not be the whole story. Even though all these royal insiders were willing to speak out about the brothers’ feud and the fallout as it relates to Kate — and openly attach their names and reputations to their quotes, no less — not every royal source is so convinced that this is what is actually going on.

Fox News Digital did manage to track down one skeptic: royal source Ian Pelham Turner. He told the outlet he’s suspicious of this new angle about Kate EVER being a “peacemaker” between William and Harry. He said it sounds like some serious PR spin:

“It’s an interesting scenario that Kate is a peacemaker between William and Harry. I’ve not heard of this and wonder if it is coming from a PR source promoting Kate.”

Huh. It’s not that he thinks it’s over now, Turner seems to think she was never the peacekeeper — because she’d always be on Will’s side! He explained:

“Kate going against William and his emotions are unheard of. But as in all royal sagas, the truth is… stranger than fiction. I feel it is Meghan who needs to feel safe to return to a maelstrom environment. Harry will never betray her.”

Huh. Seems like Turner is a big believer in the loyalty of everyone involved… to their romantic partners anyway, if not their families.

Anyways, our heads are spinning after sorting through all of this! What’s true?! What’s false?! It’d be one thing if “unnamed” and “anonymous” sources were spreading all this juicy stuff. But everybody on both sides of the report owned up to their takes by name! What are we to make of this, then?!
