Princess Catherine could take a big step in reconciling with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle this holiday season.

According to former royal butler Grant Harrold, who spoke with GB News on Monday, the Princess of Wales is likely to extend an olive branch to her estranged relatives, he mused:

“I believe that Catherine will reach out to Harry and Meghan and wish them a Happy Christmas and I think Harry and Meghan themselves will possibly reach out.”

Well, that would be huge!

Grant speculated the mother of three could contact them over the photo or even on FaceTime to wish them well. Despite their challenges in the past, the Christmas spirit and her recovery from cancer may move her to reach out, he continued:

“The thing about Christmas is that it’s all about goodwill to others, letting bygones be bygones, forgetting the past, moving into the New Year. So if there’s any point in the year that the families are going to communicate or touch base, it’s going to be over Christmas — there’s something magical about Christmas that gets families back together. I’d like to think that they will all be communicating, whether that is done by text calls or FaceTime – I’d like to think FaceTime, but that’s something we will never know.”

If there was ever a time to make amends, it’s the holidays! Kate Middleton has already spoken about the importance of forgiveness this year, something she opened up about in a letter ahead of her Christmas service. So, reconciliation seems to be on her mind!

Regardless if they make contact this Christmas season, Grant is positive the rift is “moving in the right direction,” he continued:

“I like to think deep down that things are moving in the right direction. I have a feeling that they are. I really do think they are, but that’s just my personal feeling.”

It would be so nice for them all! But there is a lot of tension among these family members — especially between Harry and Prince William, who so far seems super unwilling to forgive and forget. It’s hard to know if they could ever truly reconcile. Fingers crossed they at least have a positive interaction to wrap up this tough and emotional year for the royals!
