British royal family news reveals that King Charles is known for his philosophy of slimming down the monarchy. But it is his son and heir Prince William who may take this idea to new heights.
Charles has been sidelined this year due to a cancer diagnosis and ongoing treatment and he and his wife Camilla are on a royal tour in Australia this week.
According to The Mirror Prince William is considering a few extreme changes to the monarchy, one of which involves his youngest children, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte.
Royal Family News: How Will William Reshape the Monarchy?
Charlotte is third in line to the throne and her younger brother is fourth; their sibling Prince George will reign after Charles and William.
A former aide told The Daily Beast that it’s thought that William wants Charlotte and Louis to “do their own thing. They will be encouraged to not become working royals.”
At this point in time it is thought that George will definitely be expected to step up as monarch, although he’s expressed interest in becoming a chef first!
The insider notes that William and his wife Princess Catherine want Charlotte and Louis to “choose their own destiny.”
Royal Family News: Charlotte and Louis’s Destiny
Ironically, Charles’ plans for a slimmed down monarchy took place without him having to do a thing. His son Prince Harry defected to America in 2020 and his spare brother Prince Andrew was forced to step down after settling an underage sex abuse scandal in secret.
Some think that traitor Prince Harry has played a big part in William’s philosophy. Harry is a spare, as are Louis and Charlotte. Certainly William doesn’t want his kids falling prey to the victim narrative that has ruled Ginger Judas’ life.

The source explained that “If you look at the spares who have made it work, you only really have Edward and Anne. Margaret’s life was pretty miserable. Harry, we know all about. I’m sure William and Catherine don’t want history to repeat itself.”

And yet Princess Anne is not on board with an abbreviated monarchy. She told CBC News “I think the ‘slimmed-down’ was said in a day when there were a few more people around…[to] make that seem like a justifiable comment. It doesn’t sound like a good idea from where I’m standing, I would say. I’m not quite sure what else we can do.”
Tell us royal fans, do you think that Louis and Charlotte will fall into the same trap that Harry has?
