According to Schofield, “Montecito residents tell me that their disdain is primarily focused on Meghan because she gives off ‘new money energy.’ They don’t believe that Harry and Meghan are financially literate.”

The criticism didn’t stop there. Schofield also mentioned that many of their neighbors feel that the couple’s ventures into the entertainment industry and business world come across as “desperation.”

She further noted, “Neighbors have a hard time processing why someone would turn their back on tiaras in pursuit of Tupperware.”

Schofield concluded by commenting on Meghan’s business endeavors, saying, “Selling pots and pans with an American Riviera Orchard logo on it just does not compete with state visits with world leaders.”
