John Mulaney made a savage dig at the former senior Royals for having ‘no specific plan’ when they landed a content deal with American powerhouse Netflix.

The sharp US stand-up comic mocked Harry and Meghan in front of a packed house including Netflix’s most senior bosses as they unveiled their 2025 shows and film line up.

His comment comes amid speculation in media circles of troubles with the $100m TV production deal for the couple, branded by one Spotify executive as ‘grifters’ .

Interestingly in a glossy PR brochure, promoting the biggest 2025 releases, the ex actress’ new cooking show With Love, Meghan did not feature.

Mulaney took aim at the California-based Royals during his comedic stage announcement of his new Netflix chat show Everybody’s Live.

He noted of his show: ‘This is a really fun experiment.

‘Not since Harry and Meghan has Netflix given more money to someone without a specific plan.’

His barb had the audience in stitches and some members of the assembled media looking shocked – given how Netflix have stood by The Sussexes for almost five years.

Recently reports claimed Harry’s autumn-released polo reality series had performed terribly on streaming worldwide.

Mulaney admitted that his own show too would not be judged on ratings.

He said: ‘We will never be relevant. We will never be your source for news. We will always be reckless. Netflix will always provide us with data that we will ignore.’

During the 2025 Next on Netflix Preview Event, held at The Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles and broadcast around the world, dozens of projects were mentioned and star guests across genres attended Including Ben Affleck and Tina Fey. The Sussexes did not attend.

Harry and Meghan’s projects were not mentioned once in the upcoming projects announcements.

The glossy PR brochure referencing the biggest productions of 2025 featured games, reality TV, drama series and films.

The section, which would be relevant to With Love, Meghan called ‘You’re Not Ready To Get Real’, promoted other reality shows including an Eddie Murphy doc, behind the scenes at the Dallas Cowboys franchise, Formula 1 Drive To Survive and dating hit Love Is Blind.

To seemingly add to the drama Netflix expressed their ‘excitement’ at a ‘a very posh series coming later this year that will really spice up your life.’

A full 90-second unseen clip was played of Victoria Beckham‘s new reality docu-series, as yet formally untitled.

The Beckhams, once close allies of The Sussexes, are understood to have fallen out with them over alleged media matters.

Reports claimed that the couples had disagreed over claims of leaking inside information to media outlets.
