Prince William has shared an exciting future plan – and something that his 11-year-old son Prince George will likely approve of.
The 42-year-old spent time at the Wales Air Ambulance headquarters in South Wales on Tuesday, and revealed during the visit that he would “love to fly helicopters”.
During the visit, William – who is dad to George, Charlotte and Louis – said: “I can’t stop talking about helicopters and medical kits and all sorts. I’m sorry I take ages waffling about it. I miss it all. I’m quite keen to stay a bit longer.”
Speaking of his future plans, he added: “I’m thinking I might come back for a weekend at some point. I saw the Cardiff team a while ago and said to them I’ll come back and join them.”
The plan will likely be approved by George, who has shown an interest in aviation since he was a toddler.
Discussing his eldest son at a Buckingham Palace garden party back in May, William shared that George is a “potential pilot in the making”.
William’s visit to Wales came just one day after the Princess of Wales shared a hopeful update in her cancer journey. Released on Monday, Kate revealed that she had finished her cancer treatment in a deeply moving family video.
Over a sweet montage of Kate, William and their children, the mother of three said that she had a “renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life”.
As William arrived at Swiss Valley Community Primary School on Tuesday, he described the end of his wife’s chemotherapy treatment as “good news”, but added Kate still has “a long way to go”.
Prince William has shared an exciting personal plan that is sure to captivate his 11-year-old son, Prince George. During a visit to the Wales Air Ambulance headquarters in South Wales, the Prince of Wales expressed his continued fascination with helicopters, hinting at a possible return to the skies in the near future.
The 42-year-old royal, who has three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—enthusiastically spoke about his time as a helicopter pilot, saying, “I can’t stop talking about helicopters and medical kits and all sorts. I’m sorry I take ages waffling about it. I miss it all. I’m quite keen to stay a bit longer.” William, who previously flew as a search-and-rescue pilot, revealed that he may revisit his flying days: “I’m thinking I might come back for a weekend at some point. I saw the Cardiff team a while ago and said to them I’ll come back and join them.”
This announcement is likely to get a big thumbs up from Prince George, who has shown an early interest in aviation. William previously mentioned at a Buckingham Palace garden party that George could be a “potential pilot in the making,” showing how the royal’s passion for flying may have already influenced his eldest son.
The visit to Wales occurred just a day after Princess Kate shared an emotional update about her cancer treatment. In a touching family video released on Monday, Kate revealed she had completed her cancer treatment, expressing gratitude for life and a renewed sense of hope. Prince William, while attending Swiss Valley Community Primary School on Tuesday, described the end of his wife’s chemotherapy as “good news” but reminded well-wishers that “Kate still has a long way to go.”
William’s commitment to his flying roots and George’s budding interest in aviation could signify a father-son bonding experience in the future, with both sharing an enthusiasm for taking to the skies. The Prince of Wales, known for his hands-on parenting, continues to balance his royal duties with family life, demonstrating his dedication to both.
