The Royal Family’s Adelaide Cottage, located within the 655-acre Windsor estate, has become a special place for the family.

Originally built for Queen Adelaide, the cottage offers a more grounded and green upbringing for Charlotte Louie and their older brother Prince George.

The cottage is a step towards simplicity, with only four bedrooms, making it a perfect place for the family to live in the middle of Windsor Home Park. The family has an expansive apartment within the Grand Palace, but rarely uses it.

The Prince of Wales is reportedly not keen on the idea of funding renovations at Adelaide Cottage, which would typically be funded by British taxpayers. Plans include a restoration of a rundown brick Annex near the cottage, which is currently inhabitable and needs extensive renovation works.

The cottage was fully renovated in 2015, featuring a glacier Egyptian marble fireplace and a master bedroom ceiling adorned with dolphins. The couple tends to guard their precious family time in the sanctuary of their home, Adelaide Cottage, and often joins their beloved family dog Ora.

The cottage covers four stories and includes 20 rooms, including reception rooms, bedrooms, dressing rooms, nurseries, and staff bedrooms.
