Meghan Markle’s lifestyle TV show is scheduled to air in mid-January. Although the trailer has only just been released, the Duchess of Sussex has received a series of negative responses from audiences and royal experts.
On November 2 (US time), Netflix released the trailer for the reality TV show With Love, Meghan on its YouTube channel with 29.5 million subscribers . This is a project that Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle , has been nurturing for over a year, associated with the lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard, which she launched in March 2024. The Duchess of Sussex also shared the trailer on her new Instagram account created in early 2025.

In the video, Meghan is seen cooking in a luxury mansion, picking produce from her garden and chatting with famous friends, including screenwriter and actress Mindy Kaling. Prince Harry also appears in the trailer, but only briefly, with his arm around his wife. The entire scene is set to the song Do You Believe in Magic by The Lovin’ Spoonful.
At the end of the video, viewers learn that With Love, Meghan will air exclusively on Netflix on January 15.
In her post, Meghan promised viewers that the show would make her feel at home. However, according to the Daily Mail , the location for the eight episodes of the show was not Harry and Meghan’s private home. Instead, the 1981-born beauty rented a large estate about 2 miles away.
The beautiful $5 million estate, centered around a 4,500-square-foot home, is owned by Tom and Sherrie Cipolla (both in their 70s), prominent philanthropists with a combined net worth of about $20 million.
It’s unclear how much Meghan spent to rent the estate as a filming location for the reality show, but it certainly wasn’t a small amount.
Unfortunately for the Duchess, her investment and dedication were not enough to keep viewers excited about the show. Viewers criticized Meghan for flaunting her lavish lifestyle amid the ongoing economic crisis. In addition, many declared that they would not watch the show because they hated Meghan.

Netizens wrote: “Netflix, you are amazing! You spend $100 million just for me to enjoy the commentary that I never watch”, “Skip the trailer and go straight to the commentary”, “While the world is in a crisis of living costs, two self-proclaimed philanthropists bring us the high life and luxury”, “I won’t watch this but will pay to listen to the interview with everyone who works with her”, “Netflix should spend money on more practical and interesting things”, “The most hated star in the world who abandoned her family and her husband’s family now preaches the joys of friendship”, “With Love is the most ironic title ever, after all the things she did to her family and the royal family”, “If there is anything worse than the movie Polo , it is definitely this show”, “I agree with the others. After all the lies, I will never watch anything she creates. Netflix, when will you learn that people don’t like Meghan Markle?”, “Who is this show for? Women with lots of money and free time to make elaborate dishes and crafts?”, “Many Americans can’t afford to buy food. Is it right to air such a show?”…
In an interview with the Daily Mail , Richard Fitzwilliams, a famous British royal commentator, commented that the trailer was like a celebrity exercise created at the most superficial level, giving a feeling of Disneyfication, perfection and unreality.
Mindy Kaling’s exclamation that “this is probably one of the sexiest moments of my life” when Meghan invited her to eat cake just shows cliche and fakeness, according to experts.
“The show says ‘Everyone’s Invited,’ but how many viewers will stick around? The Heart of Invictus and Polo documentaries didn’t attract the viewership Netflix needed. Will this be any different?” Fitzwilliams pointed out.

The 76-year-old consultant added that things might have been different, or the public reaction to Meghan might have been more positive, if she had remained a senior member of the British royal family , or at least had never been a royal daughter-in-law. Before her marriage, she had a successful lifestyle blog, The Tig. But turning her back on the royal family has caused the former American actress’s reputation to plummet. No matter what Meghan does, she will have a hard time overcoming the prejudices of the world.
Of course, Meghan isn’t completely ostracized. Many of the comments left behind show fans looking forward to the duchess’ new project. Some are hoping for multiple seasons, while others claim to have re-subscribed to Netflix just to watch Meghan.
