Because she married into the royal family and all, it can’t be easy for Meghan Markle to make mom friends. But fortunately, she does seem to have plenty of sweet moments like this one to chat about all things parenting. During a hospital gala Meghan attended this week, she shared a truly “relatable” chat with a fellow mom of two. This looks like an amazing night out!

Meghan chatted with a family who was also at the event.

While at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles 2024 Gala on October 5, Meghan took a few minutes to talk with a family of four — similar to her own family, which includes Prince Harry and kids Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3.

In a video shared by The Daily Mail, Meghan can be heard joking with the little boy in the family, asking him if it’s “past your bedtime.”

The conversation started with the daughter in the family.

According to what a witness at the gala told People, Meghan got down to the little girl’s level, asking what her name was and complimenting her on how beautiful she looks.

The kiddo Meghan made new friends with is Ella Francis, a former cancer patient at the children’s hospital.

Meghan also shared a sweet moment with Ella’s mom.

“It was incredibly sweet, and at one point Ella’s mom and Meghan had a relatable moment about having two young kids,” the witness said. “Meghan was lovely, and there was no pretense about her. She was smiling and happy to shake hands with anyone who approached her.”

Ella has a lot to celebrate these days.

Her family shared her story on the hospital’s website, revealing that she was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma in 2020, when Ella was just 2 years old.

But after about two years of treatment, which included chemotherapy, radiation, and participating in a clinical trial, Ella has been clear of the disease ever since.

Meghan talked at the gala about how important the hospital’s mission is.

“The staff is incredible, and the amount of work they do for families that really could not afford this level of care is something that I think should never be overlooked,” she said of the hospital in a video shared on Instagram. “So I’m just grateful for everything they do. Happy to be here to support.”
