Is a reconciliation in the works between King Charles III and Prince Harry? That’s what the Daily Mail seems to think after the monarch sought advice from religious leaders recently. While royal fans may believe it’s just about family relationships, other people are concerned that Charles’ health is declining amid his cancer battle.

“Charles misses his son,” a source told the media outlet. “He still loves Harry and wants him back for personal reasons – regardless that he and Meghan do not [want to] return to royal life. Harry will always be Charles’s much-loved son. He has faith that Harry could return. He misses the bond they once had, and the door will always remain open to him and his family. He does not want years of discord and disharmony clouding his reign.”

The idea of reconciliation may feel like it’s coming out of nowhere, especially after the royal family skipped the Duke of Sussex’s milestone 10th-anniversary celebration of the Invictus Games. That would have been a perfect opportunity — and photo opp — to extend an olive branch to Harry. However, some palace insiders are claiming that King Charles is in poor health and that might be the impetus for ending the feud. “He’s making public appearances, but they’re for shorter periods of time,” an In Touch Weekly source said. “He’s often whisked in by helicopter and then whisked out. After an engagement, he needs a good rest.”

Even though “the palace is giving the impression that Charles is on the mend,” the insider shared that “he’s still very sick.” The plans for the king’s funeral aka “Operation Menai Bridge,” are also underway because “death is a possibility” during Charles’ illness. The monarch gave a brief update on his health on Aug. 20 that gave the impression that he had good and bad days during his illness. “I’m not too bad,” he told the Express.

The biggest thing standing in the way of King Charles’ reunion with his youngest son might be Prince William. The siblings don’t seem to have anything in common anymore and the Prince of Wales appears to be holding a deep grudge against Harry for publishing his memoir, Spare. However, if King Charles isn’t doing well, then William should step aside because forgiveness might be the best thing for the monarch and Prince Harry.
