King Charles ‘DOESN’T answer Prince Harry’s calls as rift between father & son grows deeper over duke’s security moans’

PRINCE Harry’s phone calls to The King are still “going unanswered” amid continuing friction over his battle for taxpayer-funded personal security, a pal has claimed.

Harry, 39, has not seen his father since the announcement of Charles’s cancer diagnosis in February.

And a friend has revealed Harry remains firmly out in the cold, despite pleas for help after losing police bodyguards when he walked out on his royal role.

Meanwhile, it was announced Harry and Meghan will visit Colombia – a crime-ridden country where both the UK and US governments have issued travel alerts – for a tour later this year

Harry, whose damaging family revelations has led to a total breakdown of trust, is even said to have found it impossible to speak to 75-year-old Charles about his life-threatening cancer diagnosis.

His friend told America’s People magazine: “His calls go unanswered – he has tried to reach out about the King’s health, but those calls go unanswered too.”

The Duke of Sussex is continuing to appeal against a High Court decision about his security cover after losing several rounds of the case against the Home Office.

His calls about the issue are met with the cold response that the King is “unavailable right now”, according to the report.

Outcast Harry’s anguish has left his wife Meghan wishing he could back down, sources told the celebrity magazine.

But Meghan, 42, is said to accept Harry’s decision to press on with the court battle to protect her and their children Archie, five, a three-year-old Lilibet.

One source – said to be a former employee of the Sussexes’ Archewell Foundation – told People the Duchess “supports Harry 100 per cent but she wishes he could let go of these lawsuits, be happy and live in the moment”.

They added: “She wants him to be free of all of this but she also knows that because of everything he’s been through and his love for [her and their children], he can’t.

“She wants him to live in a world where he is not burdened by this.”

Harry and Meghan’s allies also claimed he would not need to give interviews to earn money if the King intervened and helped him get security.

And they claimed that the issue had become central to repairing fractured royal relations, insisting if a deal was struck it could be “swords down”.

The insider added: “Harry is frightened and feels the only person who can do anything about it is his father.

“Harry is determined to protect his own family at all costs.”

People’s cover story follows an explosive interview in 2019, entitled “Meghan Markle’s best friends break their silence”.

‘You can’t undo bloodlines’

Five of the Duchess’s friends stood up “against the global bullying we are seeing” and spoke “the truth about our friend”.

This week’s issue features the Duke on the cover and claims to reveal the “real reason” why Harry and the King are “no longer speaking”.

It promises: “For the first time, insiders open up about what has made a reconciliation between Prince Harry and King Charles impossible.”

The Duke recently told ITV that he “won’t bring my wife back to this country” over “genuine concerns” over security.

Earlier this year, a High Court judge ruled his doomed bid to appeal against a Home Office decision about his UK security.was “frankly hopeless”

He had sought a judicial review over a decision made by the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) to remove his right to automatic police protection.

Nothing would give [Harry] more happiness than being able to rekindle his bond with his father

But authorities insist he is no longer entitled to be shielded at the public expense like a working royal.

Harry has offered to pay the Metropolitan Police for bodyguards – but government lawyers told the court that officers could not be used as “private bodyguards for the wealthy”.

The Duke is said to be upset by his estranged father’s refusal to intervene in the security issue.

But informed royal sources have pointed out that the King cannot intervene in government or police matters.

Damaging claims and revelations Harry’s book Spare and incendiary racism claims his his Oprah Winfrey interview and Netflix documentary opened up the chasm..

The People source claimed nothing “would give [Harry] more happiness than being able to rekindle his bond with his father – You can’t undo bloodlines.

“He’s not asking his dad for a nicer house or nicer cars. He’s asking because of the reality of the situation. He is at risk.”

Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the magazine article.

Confirming their Colombia tour, the country’s vice president Francia Ms Márquez said: “As the vice president of Colombia and minister of equality and equity, I am pleased to announce that Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have kindly accepted my invitation to visit our beautiful country.

“During their trip, the Duke and Duchess will join me in visiting Bogotá, as well as the Caribbean and Pacific regions of Cartagena and Cali.

“In these vibrant locations, they will have the exceptional opportunity to engage with leaders, youth, and women who embody the aspirations and voices of Colombians committed to progress.”
