Meghan Markle is believed to have reached out to her sister-in-law Kate Middleton in the hopes of healing their broken relationship, but it seems the Princess of Wales isn’t keen.
Meghan Markle seems keen to mend her relationship with the Princess of Wales, but Kate is thought to believe she “can’t be trusted”.
The Duchess of Sussex is believed to have “reached out several times” to her sister-in-law after Princess Kate found herself caught up in a Photoshop scandal. Kate was forced to apologise and admitted to altering an image of herself and her children after fans pointed out several “errors” with the photo.
While Meghan might be keen to reunite with Kate, royal author Tom Quinn has said the feeling isn’t mutual. He told The Mirror: “The feeling is that Meghan can’t be trusted not to blow a fuse at the first sign of a problem, and either start writing about her ‘truth’ all over again, or start attacking the family again.”

Meghan and Prince Harry previously hit out at the Royal Family in their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan. In the bombshell series, Harry detailed the breakdown of his relationship with his brother Prince William and alleged members of Kensington Palace had then “lied to protect my brother”.
He also hit out at his father King Charles. The Sussexes also made a number of accusations against The Firm during their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.
Tom continued: “It’s a case of once bitten twice shy, but Meghan is so convinced she’s good at charming people that she’s going to be astonished if her overtures don’t produce what she wants. The danger for Kate and the palace is that Meghan goes public on her rejection if she is rejected.”

Tom also claimed Meghan has already reached out to Kate. He told us: “Meghan has reached out several times via back channels to Kensington Palace in an attempt to see if there is any chance of getting on better terms with Kate. This is definitely partly because Meghan is genuinely worried about Kate’s health, but she also sees a chance to lose her permanently angry-at-the-royals image.”
It’s currently unclear if Meghan’s reconciliation attempts will pay off. Tom explained: “Kate won’t want to be seen to rebuff these overtures, but she will be taking advice and the advice so far, I hear, is definitely – don’t take the risk. The feeling in Kensington Palace is that if Meghan’s attempts to extend an olive branch are welcomed, it will just re-open old wounds.”
