Prince William and Kate Middleton have been estranged from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for several years now. When Harry and Meghan first went public with their relationship, many people thought the Wales and Sussex couples would become a “fab four” of sorts. Of course, that has not been the case.

Despite the tensions, Kate reportedly does miss the “goofy” bond she once had with her brother-in-law and wants nothing more than for Harry and Prince William to “make up.”

Kate Middleton reportedly wants a world where Prince William and Prince Harry are close again

Harry and William were once close — and when Kate came into the picture, she and Harry became like brother and sister. Harry was still a high school student when Kate and William began dating, so she’s been with him for so many parts of his life. And when Harry and William had a falling out, Kate and Meghan were dragged into it, too. Naturally, the women chose the side of their own husband, meaning the relationship between all four of them turned sour. But Kate reportedly wishes there were world where William and Harry were close once more.

“Kate was close to Harry, true. They had a special bond,” royal expert Christopher Anderson told Fox News, according to The Independent. “They shared the same goofy sense of humor and laughed at the same jokes. Harry often said Kate was the sister he never had.”

He continued, “Of course, Kate would like nothing better than to have the brothers kiss and make up. It would be one less cloud hanging over the royal family’s head.” Still, there has been no sign of improvement between the brothers.

Prince William and Prince Harry are not close to a reunion

Things have become so bad between Harry and William that there has even been talk of the two not seeing each other again until their father’s funeral. Harry and William reportedly don’t speak at all, and although Harry does still talk to Charles, it seems that Charles has a much better relationship with William and Kate.

When Harry and Meghan first left the family, it seemed that the door for a reconciliation was still open, but these days, it feels like that door has been shut. The two brothers have reconnected on a number of occasions, including funerals and other hardships, but nothing has brought them closer. At this point, it’s hard to imagine a world where they do put the past behind them, but if Kate still feels there is a chance, then perhaps the public should, too.
