Kate Middleton has always been known for being the peacemaker in the royal family, so it’s not surprising that, all along, she was believed to be the only one who could get the men in The Firm to put their egos aside and make up. But after the feud between Prince Harry, Prince William, and King Charles has carried on for five years with no sign of ending, one royal expert says the Princess of Wales is ready to throw in the towel.

Kate is reportedly over being the go-between.

Royal expert and author of The King, Christopher Andersen, told Fox News Digital that it’s “rubbish” to think Kate would continue to spend the time “playing peacemaker.”

“She did try over a period of years and finally threw up her hands in disgust,” he claimed. “She did her bit, but it wasn’t enough to build a bridge between William and Charles on the one side and Harry on the other.”

If Kate had to choose sides, of course, it would be her husband.

And not just to be loyal to William, either (though surely that’s part of it). Another royal expert, Richard Fitzwilliams, told the outlet that she’s still hurt over what Prince Harry wrote about her in his memoir, Spare, nearly two years after it came out.

“Harry portrayed her as cold and unwelcoming to Meghan Markle in Spare, when he painted an extremely damaging picture of the royal family,” he said.

Instead, Kate’s focused on something much more important: Her health.

Richard claimed that Kate is now directing her energy to “staying cancer-free,” rather than convincing the men in her family to make nice.

“The Wales family has had a tremendously difficult year. She has finished her course of preventative chemotherapy. William, while carrying out some royal engagements, has been tremendously supportive,” he said. “Catherine will wish to avoid anything that promotes negative energy.”

Yet another expert backed up the claims that Kate is done trying to mend fences.

Helena Chard, a British broadcaster, said Kate’s priority is her closest family members — likely meaning William and their three kids, George, Charlotte, and Louis — rather than keeping the lines of communication with Harry open. And at a time like this, when Kate is still recovering from chemotherapy, Helena said she “has to be kind to herself,” too.

“Having completed her preventative chemotherapy treatment, she is relieved to be undertaking royal duties where possible but realizes that she is not totally out of the woods,” Helena said.

Still, Kate not reaching out to Harry might end up helping the situation.

At least, according to Helena, who told Fox News that Harry will be bothered enough by Kate’s silence that he may start reaching out himself instead. After all, they used to be pretty good pals!

“Prince Harry will want to contact Princess Catherine,” Helena added. “Prince Harry will be bothered by the silent treatment — and the royal family is aware of this.”
