How is Kate Middleton doing?

Kate Middleton has revealed that her on-going cancer treatment is now complete.

She said: “As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.

“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”

The Princess said “doing what I can to stay cancer free” was now her focus as she revealed she still had a way to go to a full recovery.

But she also revealed that she was “looking forward” to being back at work as she slowly returns to her public duties in the coming months.

The next time the Duchess of Cambridge is due to be seen in public will be when she joins her family at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday.

Previously Kate made an appearance at Wimbledon.

On Sunday, July 14, 2024, she presented trophies to players after an intense Grand Slam.

She also appeared at Trooping the Colour on Saturday, June 15, 2024, all while she was undergoing her cancer treatment.

The 41-year-old also rode in a carriage and waved at the crowd with Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and six-year-old Prince Louis, before watching the King’s Birthday Parade.

At this event she appeared with the King, William, and other royals on Buckingham Palace balcony.

On April 29, Wills and Kate marked their 13th anniversary by releasing unseen wedding photos.

The Princess of Wales first announced on March 22, 2024 that she had been diagnosed with cancer and revealed she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment after post-operation tests came back positive.

She underwent major abdominal surgery in London in January which was thought to be non-cancerous at the time.

Kate said: “The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”The statement did not confirm what type of cancer the Princess has.

Before her announcement, Kate had been absent from duty since her surgery and had rarely been seen in public.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the friend said: “Catherine is recovering well.

“She was looking forward to a change of scene and will be able to take it easy in Norfolk while the children let off steam with William.

“The surgery was successful and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to 14 days, before returning home to continue her recovery.”

It was reported that Prince William was by his wife’s side before and after her operation. The Prince of Wales then visited the London clinic on January 18, 2024, as Kate recovered from her procedure.

She was released from the hospital on January 29, 2024 —- 13 days after the surgery.

A palace spokesperson said after she left hospital: “The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery. She is making good progress.

“The Prince and Princess wish to say a huge thank you to the entire team at The London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they have provided.

The Princess of Wales joined her children and other royals for the Christmas Day walk to church at Sandringham on December 25, 2023.

What has Kate said about her diagnosis?

The Princess of Wales said her diagnosis came as a huge shock, which she and Prince William had been processing privately for the sake of their young family.

She said it had taken time for them to explain her diagnosis to George, Charlotte and Louis.

She said: “As I have said to them, I am well and I’m getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal in my mind, body and spirit.”

She also thanked everyone for their understanding while she recovered from surgery.

Princess Kate’s statement in full

Here is the Princess Of Wales’ complete statement, which was released on June 14, 2024:

I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months. It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times.

I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.

My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.

I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet.

I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal.

Thank you so much for your continued understanding, and to all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me.
