The warning was issued by Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle, who said Archie and Lilibet might regret not living as true royal children.
Royal expert Kinsey Schofield echoed Thomas Markle’s concerns. She said Archie and Lilibet would surely wonder why they weren’t given the life their cousins deserved. ” This warning, coming from Meghan’s father, carries more weight than any expert. The truth is, these children will regret it,” Schofield said .
Having spent most of their lives in Montecito, California, Archie and Lilibet have little memory of England. Lilibet has only ever visited their father’s homeland once. The only time Archie and Lilibet met the late Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III was during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, when the Sussexes returned to London.
Sadly, the Queen passed away just three months after her first and only meeting with Lilibet. According to multiple sources, the Queen was devastated that Harry and Meghan could not bring their children to the Balmoral sleepover with her other great-grandchildren.
In the book “The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown”, author Katie Nicholl writes: “The Queen was sad that she saw so little of Archie and Lilibet. She also regretted that Harry and Meghan could not take the children to Balmoral in August, when the Queen usually hosts a ‘sleepover’ for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren” .
King Charles III is said to be hurt that he does not have the same close relationship with Archie and Lilibet as he does with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and “little prince” Louis. Royal commentator Michael Cole once told MailOnline: “Fully aware that time is precious, the King regrets that he cannot be closer to his two grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet . “
“The rift between Prince Harry, his wife Meghan and the Royal Family has created a huge barrier that has strained family ties and is almost impossible to repair,” he added . There has been speculation that the King could invite the Sussexes to Balmoral for the summer or back to Sandringham for Christmas. However, even if the invitation is sent, there is no indication whether Harry and Meghan will accept.
