eghan Markle’s New Show Called “Mind-Numbing” After Netflix Threatens To Cancel Deal

Meghan Markle may be continuing her career rebrand with the launch of two Netflix shows, but though the productions haven’t even been released yet, the duchess is already receiving flack. Her upcoming biopic was recently branded a “mind-numbering” reality show, which was likely not the angle Markle was hoping for.

GB News host Darren Grimes recently shared his unfiltered criticism following the news of Markle and Prince Harry’s new shows with the streaming giant, which is part of a deal reportedly worth $100 million that they signed with Netflix in 2021.

Why Meghan And Harry’s Unaired Show Is Already Causing Controversy

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle clap hands “This is clearly an attempt to create reality television by masquerading as a documentary on Polo when actually it’s a documentary on these two and their penchant for being in the press,” Grimes said.

He went on to suggest the show will likely be “mind numbing,” suggesting it’ll be another failed project to add to Markle’s portfolio. This comes after Meghan’s new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, was branded a “flop” when the website has only been live for a matter of weeks.

Meghan and Harry were recently spotted packing on the PDA in Florida where cameras were following them, presumably for the new docuseries. Harry was participating in a polo tournament. The couple apparently spent a small fortune to stay in a luxury resort during the trip, despite battling rumors of financial troubles.Few details are known about the upcoming shows, other than they’re both non-fiction projects. One will reportedly feature Markle exploring her passions for cooking, gardening, hosting, and camaraderie, what’s being advertised as a very Martha Stewart-esque venture, which would complement her new lifestyle brand.

In contrast, the other Netflix production will explore the realm of professional polo, predominantly filmed at the prestigious US Open Polo Championship in Wellington, Florida. This is likely why Megan and Harry were in Florida recently.

Why Netflix Almost Cancelled Harry And Meghan’s Production Deal

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry The series is expected to give an in-depth look at the sport’s competitive dynamic, providing viewers with a profound understanding of Prince Harry’s infamous passion for polo.

There’s likely a lot of pressure on Harry and Meghan for their new Netflix projects to perform well, and not just because of reports they both want to establish acting careers as well as claims of financial problems. There were previously reports that Netflix wanted to cancel their multi-million dollar deal, especially after they lost their production contract with Spotify.

“Netflix was pleased to sign Harry and Meghan and is looking for some great ideas going forward,” a source said at the time. “But the remainder of the deal relies on them producing those good ideas. The deal’s continually under review which is normal for ones of this magnitude.”

Harry and Meghan have been married since 2018, though they relocated to California in 2020 after abdicating their royal duties. Harry recently denied reports he’s returning to the U.K. by listing his country of residence as the U.S.
