Meghan Markle went on at least 13 foreign holidays despite telling Oprah Winfrey her passport was taken away, it has been reported.
The Palace is still said to be reeling after the explosive televised interview with Prince Harry and wife Meghan.
In sensational claims audiences heard earlier this week that racist comments were made about the colour of their children’s skin.
Oprah revealed that Harry stressed “it was not his grandmother or grandfather who were part of those conversations”.
The two-hour programme is now set to be watched by more than 100million people by the weekend.
The Sun reports that Meghan, 39, had claimed in the TV interview that on joining the Royal Family, she did not see her passport again until she was in California.

“I mean, you have to understand, as well, when I joined that family, that was the last time, until we came here, that I saw my passport, my driver’s licence, my keys. All that gets turned over. I didn’t see any of that any more.”
The paper said that from ‘royal sources’ it was understood that her passport had to be kept safe to ensure it did not fall into the wrong hands but would still have been used by her for her holidays.
Insiders reportedly said she must have shown her passport to border officials at 12 countries she visited as a tourist during that time.
The trips taken after she started dating Harry included trips to New York, Ibiza, Italy and Botswana.

They also took part in three official royal tours, taking in Morocco, South Africa and Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji.
Royal author Margaret Holder was reported to have said: “Of course the Royal Family would want to keep Meghan’s passport safe.
“But it’s unthinkable she didn’t carry it for personal and private trips such as her New York baby shower, travelling to see friends in Canada, partying in Amsterdam and going to Lake Como with George Clooney.”
All members of the Royal Family except for the monarch need a passport to travel abroad.
Buckingham Palace was reported to have not wanted to comment on the claims on Wednesday.
