According to Royal expert Christopher Anderson, Prince William merely tolerates his stepmother, who has always been a little afraid of him, as reported by *US Weekly*.

Additionally, the author asserts that Camilla needed gin and tonic following her first encounter with Wills, which is absurd.

Although this may not sound like the best scenario, it is important to note that one of the Queen’s friends claims that William has warmed up to Camilla over time and that they have a familial relationship these days.

However, there are many obstacles to overcome.

Because of their devotion to their mother, William and Harry had always misjudged Camilla and felt resentment toward her. They never really felt like they could talk to her openly.

William and Harry’s doubt developed when they figured out Camilla was spilling stories to the press to make herself appear more appealing. Apparently, all the drama with the Sussexes has made William and Camilla closer. They became closer as a result, the source claims. William and Kate don’t want any more drama or tension in the family because they already have enough with Meghan and Harry. Actually, Kate warmed William’s heart to Camilla. She has always treated Camilla with kindness and has never dismissed her.

According to a royal expert, Queen Camilla initially opposed Prince William and Kate Middleton’s relationship. Author Christopher Anderson of *The King* revealed in a recent interview with *US Weekly* that when William and Middleton first met and fell in love at St. Andrews University in Scotland, Camilla initially did not like them. Anderson stated, “Camilla is a believer in aristocracy and kind of a snob,” adding that Camilla did not consider Middleton to be of their class.

Prince Harry revealed the alleged tension that existed between William and Camilla in his shocking memoir *Spare*. Harry claimed in the book that he and his older brother begged their father, King Charles III, not to wed Camilla. Additionally, he said that Camilla had leaked information to the media about him and the other members of the royal family. “I distinctly recall wondering whether she would be cruel to me,” the Duke of Sussex wrote in his book, “if she would be like all the wicked stepmothers in the stories.”

During Charles’s marriage to the late Princess Diana in the 1980s and 1990s, Camilla was known for having an on-and-off affair. Harry wrote in his book about Charles and Camilla getting married that Diana died in a fiery car accident in August 1997. Despite the concerns of his sons, Charles married Camilla in 2005. “Despite Willie and me urging him not to, he was going ahead,” Harry wrote. “We shook his hand, hoped everything would turn out great for him—nothing personal,” Harry stated. “We knew that he was going to finally be with the woman he loved, the woman he had always loved.”

William and Camilla have overcome a lot in their relationship throughout the years, according to a source in the *US Weekly* story.
