According to the Daily Mail, the dress embodies “Old Hollywood glamour’ with structured shoulders, embellished crystals, and a dramatic, floor-length cape” and it really was a vision with Kate wearing it.

Social media users described Kate as “stunning” and “showstopping” at the premiere. Ashley, sometimes referred to as ‘The First Daughter’ chose to wear the exact dress and social media had their say with one poster writing “Why would anyone in their right mind even attempt this?” and another person wrote “After the Princess of Wales retired that dress for life. It screams socially unaware!”
One X user chimed in: “Good question – I’m an American and think it just doesn’t look well on Ashley. But then imitation is the greatest form of flattery.”
