The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have now been living in America for four years and own a mansion in Montecito, California.
The couple brought their American home four years ago
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have been living at their £11 million Montecito mansion for four years now, with no sign of the couple leaving anytime soon.
While the Duke of Sussex has made comments that have hinted at a return to the royal fold, the prince is reportedly happy and settled in America where the couple are bringing up their two children Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3.
However, although the couple dominate headlines daily across the globe, it seems that they aren’t as dominate in the lives of their neighbours as it is revealed the family are hardly seen outside their home.
According to The Telegraph, Harry is only ever spotted walking on the beach with his dog, doing the school run, riding his bike while being followed by his security, or occasionally heading out to dinner with his wife.
Likewise, Meghan is also reported to keep a low profile, with her very few trips including going out to lunch with friends or shopping at the local market.
According to Richard Mineards, a society columnist who lives close to the Sussexes, some living nearby are disappointed the couple are not seen out more and are intrigued by the pair.
He told The Telegraph: ”The community is waiting for them.” He added: “They’re gnashing at the bit. The cachet of a Duke and Duchess. They live rather splendidly, it couldn’t be a nicer place.
“We have got a lot of very rich and very famous people here, and none of them have a security retinue like the Sussexes.”
The couple’s most recent documented outing in Montecito was their visit to a bookshop’s new launch party.
Godmothers, named after something once said by Prince Harry to the store owners, is the newest book store to open in their neighbourhood and sells Harry’s controversial memoir Spare under the local authors section.
The prince is often seen riding his bike
The couple were joined by a star-studded crowd at the shop’s launch including Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres.
While the Duke and Duchess’ neighbours don’t see the couple often, it is likely they will get a few more sightings of the royal duo this weekend as they celebrate the prince’s 40th birthday with a large house party.
Prince Harry’s family members in the UK will not be attending, however American friends of the prince are believed to have been invited to the birthday bash.
It has also been reported that Meghan has booked a surprise getaway for the prince to spend some time in the mountains with his mates.
